Perform simple mathematics, be familiar with fractional and decimal measurements and effectively use and understand measuring devices. Be adept at performing Quality Control on finished products, ensuring that they meet specified performance standards and tolerances. Be detail oriented and have the ability to fabricate quality parts/ structures within specified dimensional tolerances. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and pivot between different projects as necessary. Ability to work well with others and be a team player. Be self-motivated, self-starting, and able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Flexible schedule, ability to work overtime as necessary. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent or technical school. American Welding Society (AWS) certification Experience: At least 5 years of metal fabrication experience Experience in manufacturing Knowledge of aerospace processes Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication skills. The Night Welder under minimal supervision, welds, fabricates, repairs, modifies, and evaluates a variety of construction, transmission, and distribution vehicles, trucks, and equipment. What You'll Do Diagnose repair and rebuild equipment using multiple cutting and welding process Be able to Draft equipment or part to be built or repaired. Understand the working of vehicles and equipment that applies to the line industry. Provide Technical support, guidance and instruction in the most efficient and safest method to accomplish a task Inspect and trouble shoot welds and welding equipment. Provide input and assistance to fleet management staff on implementing the goals and objectives of an effective fleet maintenance program. Experience with blueprints. Ability to follow Crux outlined procedures and learn new processes. Working Conditions: This is a full-time hourly position, expected to work at least 40 hours per week. The outside work environment will vary throughout the day including changes in terrain, traffic, urban settings, and/or rural settings. Summary: Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, Weld together metal components of products such as piping systems, plates, pipes, and tube or structural shapes, as specified by layout, blueprints, diagram, work order, welding procedures, or oral instructions, using electric arc-welding equipment. Plan installation or repair to avoid obstructions and avoid interfering with the activities of other workers. Secure pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers, using hand tools and power tools. Weld in any direction - flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions Essential Functions Must successfully pass weld test in both Inconel GTAW 2" Sch 80 and FCAW Flux Core on Carbon Steel weld tests Must be able to weld on stainless steel or carbon pipe - all sizes Must be able to pass QA inspection and/or hydro testing Must be able to read and interpret prints and plans Tools - use hand, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic tools and in a safe manner. Construction Math - Demonstrates level of competency in construction math as required in trade practice. Safety - work safely around the hazards associated with the Construction field. Qualifications: At least 3 years of pipe combo welding in an industrial construction setting. OSHA 10 preferred , AWS certified preferred Must have locking tool box and tools necessary to perform the job. Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements. Physical/Site Requirements: Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds. Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age. Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions. Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds. PPE footwear/prescription safety glasses or eye shields required.
