**Responsibilities**

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Promotes and ensures the safety of Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD) visitors through routine patrol and enforcement activities on its lands by motor vehicle and foot patrol and waters by watercraft (as certification and training allows). Spends considerable time performing public relations activities and public education, ensuring excellent service is provided to MWCD guests. Responds to concerns, complaints and disturbances on land and water. Enforces the provisions of the Ohio Revised Code, Ohio Administrative Code, safe boating laws, MWCD rules and regulations, as well as the Campground Rules and Regulations. Appropriately utilizes warnings, citations and arrests to enforce state laws as well as MWCD rules. May be called upon to perform duties at any MWCD reservoir/location for special assignments/projects or in emergency situations.

Role
As an Environmental Technician, you will assist clients in meeting compliance standards by inspecting and monitoring their sites while maintaining high levels of safety and integrity. Experience is not required, but related experience is a plus.
Responsibilities Include:
Perform environmental compliance inspections at an oil refinery using air monitoring equipment, and data collectors.
Supervise and perform environmental inspection, monitoring and testing;
Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) inspections using a flame ionization detector (FID);
Manage environmental database (LeakDAS);
Maintain identification of LDAR components and piping and instrument diagrams;
Maintain record keeping on monitoring
Generate maintenance work orders
Prepare and submit periodic reports.
Perform optical gas imaging inspections
Participate in weekly compliance and safety meetings
Other duties as assigned
Experience and Skills:
High School Diploma - Associates or Bachelors degree preferred;
Ability to acquire quickly knowledge of the environmental compliance requirements of 40 CFR Part 60 and State rules related to LDAR;
Experience reading P
Experience troubleshooting instrumentation;
Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with peers, managers, and customers;
Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel;

Position Summary
The position will require a minimum of 40+ hours per week during our peak season. New Field Biologists will be provided on-the-job training for the needed skills and continuing education opportunities. Responsibilities include managing customer's aquatic resources through regularly scheduled seasonal visits. Additional practices may include aquatic applications, water quality enhancement, aeration, etc. Field Biologists engage in thorough data entry and processing, providing detailed information on aquatic management. This role will analyze customers' needs and provide technical support for products sold, as well as engage in problem solving by working with industry partners and developing solutions for customer projects and requests. This role may also be responsible for seasonal installation and removal of pond aeration equipment, as well as maintenance of fleet vehicles and application equipment.
Essential Duties
This position will focus heavily on Commercial Aquatic Applications within our pond management department.
Develop and initiate management plans for clients.
Assessment of clients' lake and/or pond with the ability to initiate the appropriate management protocol.
Water and sediment sampling.
Aquatic plant management and identification.
Installation of aeration systems, and decorative fountains.
Qualifications
Associate's Degree or higher in Biology, Water Resources, Fisheries related course study, or equivalent work experience.
Must be well organized, highly motivated, and willing to work well with a team of professionals.
Possess a current driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to drive combination truck/trailer non-CDL capacity and operate motor vehicles for periods of time.
Special Conditions of Employment
