Early picture of White Bridge – 1925
It provides a great view of the lake and the river. It was built on the west side of the river around 1930 and is still serving the public 79 years later.

Mom and Dad sold the place to Carl and Florence Richert from the Elgin area in about 1958.
Claude O’Malley purchased it and ran it under the name of O’Malley’s until 1971 when it was purchased by Mr. and Mrs.
In 1972, the Mercers sold Fishermen’s Inn to Ralph and Anne Schleifer, a local family from Kaneville, IL. The Schleifers later built a home in the woods behind Fisherman’s Inn.
V.J. JanDu (T-Bone) who in turn sold it to Mr. It was then purchased in 1974 by Mr. and Mrs.
She started working for Nick and Pat in 1977 and has continued to work there for the Petersons.
In fall of 1986, Fishermen’s Inn reopened, after a new barn was built and damage to the banquet facility was repaired during the summer.
Following Ralph Schleifer’s death in 2005, Fishermen’s Inn was turned over to a trust at Old Second Bank, which named a restaurant employee as president of the business.
