The following provides a detailed description for the position of Group Exercise Instructor (GXI). Actual duties performed may vary slightly. The GXI will lead members, in a group environment, through a pre-arranged format of exercises designed to enhance overall fitness, strength and endurance, while ensuring that the safety of the members is not compromised. Essential Duties
Pre-class Preparation
Arrive at class location 10 to 15 minutes ahead of scheduled start time to be available to interact with members, answer questions, inquire about their fitness progress, introduce and orient new participants. GXI should know their participants on an individual basis and have a good sense of their fitness capabilities.
Clothing should be appropriate fitness attire and adhere to COVID-19/CDC guidelines. It should not prohibit participants from seeing proper form, alignment and movement of the body. However, clothing should not be revealing in an inappropriate manner. Proper footwear should be worn at all times.
Prepare appropriate music for class. Refrain from using music with offensive language.
Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly and have microphones ready.
Participate in events to promote your class format(s) as needed throughout the year (e.g. Senior Fit Socials, etc.)
During Class Responsibilities
Introduce yourself and the format of the class.
Inquire if there are any “first-timers” in the group and if so, assess their fitness level in as private a manner as possible.
Make sure all verbal instructions are clear and that the volume, tempo of music and overall atmosphere is conducive to hearing, teaching, learning and having fun.
Continually monitor participants to ensure all participants are using correct form. Offer variations of the routine to accommodate all fitness levels.

Additional Responsibilities
Make sure that class begins and ends promptly. If necessary, make adjustments to the flow of the class to ensure adherence to the schedule.
If the GXI is teaching the last class of the day, please follow proper closing procedures as outlined by the GXD for the individual facility.
In the event that a GXI cannot fulfill a scheduled class, it is his/her responsibility to find a qualified/approved substitute and notify the GXD if there is a problem finding a substitute.
GXI must be dependable and consistent in their class schedules. Anyone committing to teach a class should make all arrangements so that substitutes or cancellations are a rare occurrence.
Attend all required staff meetings as necessary.

The following provides a detailed description for the position of Group Exercise Instructor (GXI). Actual duties performed may vary slightly. The GXI will lead members, in a group environment, through a pre-arranged format of exercises designed to enhance overall fitness, strength and endurance, while ensuring that the safety of the members is not compromised. The GXI will also serve as a resource to educate members on various aspects of fitness. GXI will report directly report to Regional Fitness Programming Manager.
Essential Duties
Pre-class Preparation
Arrive at class location 10 to 15 minutes ahead of scheduled start time to be available to interact with members, answer questions, inquire about their fitness progress, introduce and orient new participants. GXI should know their participants on an individual basis and have a good sense of their fitness capabilities.
Clothing should be appropriate fitness attire and adhere to COVID-19/CDC guidelines. It should not prohibit participants from seeing proper form, alignment and movement of the body. However, clothing should not be revealing in an inappropriate manner. Proper footwear should be worn at all times.
Prepare appropriate music for class. Refrain from using music with offensive language.
Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly and have microphones ready.
Participate in events to promote your class format(s) as needed throughout the year (e.g. Senior Fit Socials, etc.)
During Class Responsibilities
Introduce yourself and the format of the class.
Inquire if there are any “first-timers” in the group and if so, assess their fitness level in as private a manner as possible.
Make sure all verbal instructions are clear and that the volume, tempo of music and overall atmosphere is conducive to hearing, teaching, learning and having fun.
Continually monitor participants to ensure all participants are using correct form. Offer variations of the routine to accommodate all fitness levels.
Create a motivational and fun environment for all participants.
Uphold Fitness Connection's Mission and Values by delivering group exercise classes that meet or exceed company standards based on COVID-19/CDC guidelines.
Engage in opportunities to positively interact with members
After Class Responsibilities
Remove all music and return microphone to proper place.

SALES & SERVICE:
Achievement of assigned monthly sales goals (individual contribution to total monthly store goal)
Ensure an unparalleled customer experience for all visitors to The Shop and to Equinox
Maintain knowledge of all club and Shop services, programs and products
OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE:
Understands and upholds all loss prevention and inventory management policies on a consistent basis
Ensures personal comprehension of all communication and training materials, and assists Shop MOD with timely/accurate completion of all assigned operational tasks
PRODUCT & PRESENTATION
Assists Shop MOD to ensure that The Shop is reflective of the company brand standards; i.e., through assisting with execution of merchandising and marketing direction, and through adherence to The Shop dress code
Maintains excellent housekeeping and organizational standards on sales floors, at cash wraps and in stockrooms
PROFESSIONAL DIMENSION
Builds effective relationships and partnerships with fellow employees, colleagues, supervisors and clients
•Maintains working knowledge of happenings and general standards and practices outside of The Shop, in other departments to encourage camaraderie and team spirit

The following provides a detailed description for the position of Group Exercise Instructor (GXI). Actual duties performed may vary slightly. The GXI will lead members, in a group environment, through a pre-arranged format of exercises designed to enhance overall fitness, strength and endurance, while ensuring that the safety of the members is not compromised. The GXI will also serve as a resource to educate members on various aspects of fitness. GXI will report directly report to Regional Fitness Programming Manager.
Essential Duties
Pre-class Preparation
Arrive at class location 10 to 15 minutes ahead of scheduled start time to be available to interact with members, answer questions, inquire about their fitness progress, introduce and orient new participants. GXI should know their participants on an individual basis and have a good sense of their fitness capabilities.
Clothing should be appropriate fitness attire and adhere to COVID-19/CDC guidelines. It should not prohibit participants from seeing proper form, alignment and movement of the body. However, clothing should not be revealing in an inappropriate manner. Proper footwear should be worn at all times.
Prepare appropriate music for class. Refrain from using music with offensive language.
Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly and have microphones ready.
Participate in events to promote your class format(s) as needed throughout the year (e.g. Senior Fit Socials, etc.)
During Class Responsibilities
Introduce yourself and the format of the class.
Inquire if there are any “first-timers” in the group and if so, assess their fitness level in as private a manner as possible.
Make sure all verbal instructions are clear and that the volume, tempo of music and overall atmosphere is conducive to hearing, teaching, learning and having fun.
Continually monitor participants to ensure all participants are using correct form. Offer variations of the routine to accommodate all fitness levels.
Create a motivational and fun environment for all participants.
Uphold Fitness Connection's Mission and Values by delivering group exercise classes that meet or exceed company standards based on COVID-19/CDC guidelines.
Engage in opportunities to positively interact with members
After Class Responsibilities

Attend all required staff meetings as necessary.
Ensure that proper time recording procedures are followed correctly and in a timely manner.
Prepare any incident and/or witness reports as necessary in the event of accidents.
Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards his/her responsibilities, fellow employees, and members.
Promote COVID-19/CDC adherence, Fitness Connection and Fitness Connection Group Exercise program as much as possible.
