I thought the pros of working at Five Star Senior Living are: Being able to serve and work with my loving Seniors, helping them to know their worth and they still matter regardless of their age and what may be going on in their body.
In my experience, the cons of working at Five Star Senior Living are...Communication, it seem even while changes are happening, we deal more with attitudes rather than real conversations of what may be happening in the job field. My experience I felt if you talked to someone about any problem you may have with the job, your ignored, or some leaders show non professional attitudes, which make it very hard to approach some management teams. Staff should not know if some other Staff has issues. We are all adults working as a team, no one should feel like they are a child or talked to as if they are a child.
My favorite benefits at Five Star Senior Living are. None, I do not have any benefits.
What I like best about the CEO, I can't really answer that question, because I never met the CEO and the leadership team, some of the team members can work on their professional attitudes a lot more and learn how to talk to their fellow co workers. After all we are a team and we need to learn how to work as a team.
I would improve the company culture by being honest with families that are coming into the community. Our Seniors are here for a reason and that reason may be different depending on the family. Food does not meet the standards that these family have to pay in cost, a lot of the seniors getting laundry lost, beds are not being changed, trash sometimes is not being taken out, if something is going on with our Seniors, those needs of care is not met sometime in a timely matter. Ego's sometimes get in the way of the care of our Seniors. Listening, hearing , and doing helps our Seniors out, no matters where their mind may be at the time. All Seniors Matter!
I prepared for my interview at Five Star Senior Living by going into my interview being me. Excited to work and serve our Seniors through the gifts that God has allowed me to use to bless someone's life. 3 years ago when I prepared for this job, my excitement was to make a difference in a Senior's life and when I left their homes there was a smile on each face that I served. I was just me. That's how I prepared for my interview.
In my experience, the compensation at Five Star Senior Living when compared to the industry average is it doesn't compare. Your compensated more in the industry. Working with Seniors, have to truly be where your heart is because we are not compensated enough for all the trials you have to deal with, but the love and appreciation of our Seniors, pays a whole lot more than what we are compensated.
The representation of diverse demographics within our organization is somewhat fair, I don't have any complaints. As long as we represent and respect the diverse demographics within the organization and continue to work together to make a better place for our Seniors.
Personally, the most fulfilling aspect of my work at Five Star Senior Living is...being able to put a smile on my Seniors faces, and being able to be that person they can depend on when they may need something. Hearing them say to me, I come to you because I know the job will get done. It gets overwhelming at times but knowing that my Seniors love and appreciate me brings me great joy.
