Provide transportation to and from various treatment locations in MA. Provide or arrange transportation in accordance with Gandara Transportation Protocol for individuals referred by Boston Medical Center's Healing Communities Initiative and its Springfield Community Coalition.

Build relationship between individuals, Valor community partner agencies, as well as MOUD and detox providers giving information, sharing options, and making appropriate referrals.
Transport individuals to next level of care, engage individuals in discussion of “next steps”-Explain Recovery Coaching / peer-to-peer support during rides, encourage medication assisted treatment and multiple pathways to recovery with follow up contacts at recovery center and other natural environments and community based settings as appropriate.
Engage in discussion of overdose risk and prevention and provide Narcan education and distribution upon completion of treatment.
Maintain Contact notes, track required information and outcomes, complete appropriate releases for follow up with coalition partners and referral sources and reporting back to Healing Communities Initiative Coalition.
Transport / Accompany individuals for initial attendance at MOUD providers or other self-help meetings, visits to other providers or visits to the Recovery Support Center as appropriate, care and assist in securing long term transportation.

The Opportunity:
Whittier Street Health Center is seeking a full-time Mobile Health Van Driver to join our team. In this role, you'll operate our 35-foot mobile health vehicle, helping bring care directly to Boston's neighborhoods. You'll ensure safe, reliable transportation of our mobile health unit while supporting positive patient experiences and smooth operations. A CDL is not required, but strong driving skills and community awareness are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Safely operate Whittier's 35-foot Mobile Health Van
* Greet patients with professionalism, courtesy, and customer service
* Assist patients entering/exiting the van and provide support as needed
* Monitor vehicle condition, including checking oil, gas, and reporting maintenance needs
* Maintain vehicle cleanliness (interior and exterior)
* Report any incidents, citations, or accidents immediately to the supervisor
* Support mobile program operations and assist staff with equipment setup
* Flexibility to work occasional Saturdays
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Valid, non-probationary Massachusetts driver's license with clean driving record
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
* Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance
* Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Familiarity with the Boston community preferred
* Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds

The Driver reports to the office every morning for pre-trip inspections and then is sent to pick up loads at various storage yards. There are no off-site trips over 30 miles. The Driver adheres to all Driver Safety and Laws set by the state and BrightView policy, must maintain and organize all daily load tickets, must adhere to all check in and check out procedures
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Operate commercial vehicles to, from and around job site.
+ Perform daily safety and maintenance check on vehicle.
+ Load and unload truck.
+ Maintain vehicle to proper safety and cleanliness standards set forth by the company.
+ Maintain set routes and set timetables for daily routes.
+ Maintain and organize all daily load tickets.
+ Practice workplace safety.
**Education and Experience:**
+ Class A driver's license.
+ Current medical card and must be self-identified with Department of Public Safety.
+ Minimum of 2 years' experience driving tandem dump trucks.
**Physical Demands/Requirements:**
+ Ability to work in extreme conditions (temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
+ Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time.
+ Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. as needed.
+ Ability to load/unload (up to 50 lbs.) vehicle.
+ Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day.
**Work Environment:**
+ Work in/or about situations near direct automotive traffic.
+ Work near or about natural bodies of water.
+ Work 8+ hours per day with applicable breaks x5 days/week (some overtime/weekend work required).
+ Ability to work between the hours of 6:30am - 6:30pm. Hours dependent on material demands.
+ Ability to work some Saturdays as needed.
