    Key Responsibilities The Opportunity The Med Tech position provides support for our community's residents with the essential day-to-day tasks they can no longer perform or need help with. Med Techs are responsible for administering daily medications. Duties include monitoring residents, reporting changes, and collecting samples. The ideal Med Tech will be detail oriented, possess knowledge of resident care procedures and have excellent communication skills. What You'll Do * Deliver routine daily medications, either prescription or non-prescription, to residents * Record medication dosages and times * Observe residents and document changes in their condition * Gather samples for analysis * Ensure equipment is routinely inspected and cleaned * Uphold all health and safety standards * Follows federal, state, and agency regulations to protect own health and that of others * Coordinate with different nurses to assist with resident care and medications * Follow written or verbal instructions on how to manage medications * Respond to resident emergency call signals, bells, or intercom systems to identify residents needs * Protects confidential client information unless otherwise required to promote client safety and welfare * Seeks guidance from the nurse as needed to perform tasks safely and efficient * Responsibilities include customer service, administering medication, caregiving, resident safety and communication What You'll Bring POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS: * Successful completion of a state approved Medication Aide course and is approved to assist with or administer oral and external medications, per state regulations * Must demonstrate competency to perform medication administration in accordance with state regulations * High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, although mandatory in certain states * Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old, or the age required by state regulations, whichever is higher * Working experience alone, on a team, and on projects start to finish * Strong emotional intelligence and listening skills * Dedication to the medical field, especially towards working with the residents * Must pass State and company background checks and drug test * Take Vital signs * Assisting resident with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) * Medication supervision (within the scope of the state regulations) * Read, write, speak and understand the English language Location Information Legacy Heights Senior Living Community is a beautiful community in Charlotte, NC, with more than 110 units offering assisted living and Alzheimer's care.

Take appropriate action including resetting call bells. + Greet guests, family members, residents, and team members. + Answer, direct and/or respond to phone calls in a timely, courteous, and professional manner. + Assist with continence management and dispose of all continence products properly to ensure sanitation of resident suite and community restrooms using standard care procedures. + Communicate with families and is a resource as needed. + Help residents maintain independence and physical safety and promote dignity of each resident adhering to the standards of Resident Rights and Sunrise Principles of Service. + Participate/lead and assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) and Invite, Encourage, and Assist (IEA) residents to participate in activities as indicated on the ISP. + Engage residents in life skills and other life enrichment activities throughout the day in reminiscence. + Strive to understand and respond to each resident with empathy, always remaining mindful of the resident's unique communication patterns or history and basic human needs. + Maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis as well as a calm environment. + Ensure the established safety regulations are always followed. + Practice routinely good Standard Care Precautions of cleanliness, hygiene, and health. + Host and engage in activities with the residents daily. **Risk Management and General Safety** + Partner with community team to ensure community is in compliance with national/provincial regulations pertaining to occupational health and safety requirements, promoting Risk Management programs and policies, and adhering to safety rules and regulations. + Practice safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and Lockout Tagout procedures. + Report all accidents/incidents immediately. + Reports all unsafe and hazardous conditions/equipment immediately. + Ensure any cords, carts, equipment, and other hazards are always kept out of the way, not blocking exits, and in compliance with fire codes. + Understand and practice the proper method of attending to and disposing of, and the possibility of exposure to, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids, infectious waste, sharp sticks, and hazardous materials. + Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, sharp sticks, and hazardous chemicals immediately. + Ensure oxygen tanks are stored safely, exchanged when empty and monitored to make sure liters of oxygen are at prescribed levels. **Housekeeping and Laundry Services** + Maintain and clean resident's room as assigned including making beds, emptying trash, putting clothes away appropriately, spot sweeping, and mopping as needed. + Wash resident's laundry as noted in the ISP and as needed. + Wash and fold dining room linens and napkins. + Complete assigned housekeeping tasks. + Maintain common areas in a clean and tidy manner at all times. **Dining Service** + Serve meals in the dining room and work in the dining room as assigned. + Promote and ensure a pleasant dining experience during all meals. + Assist with dining room set up and clean up as assigned. + Participate in pre-meal meetings. + Follow residents' diets as indicated on ISP and Confidential Diet Board/Chart. + Observe, note, and document in daily log any resident changes in dining habits. + Respond to the dining needs of the residents and guests while maintaining Sunrise hospitality and service standards. + Provide room service delivery as needed. + Practice safe food handling in compliance with universal care precautions at all times. **Specific Responsibilities for the Reminiscence Neighborhood Care Manager** + IEA residents in life skills and other life enriching activities as indicated on ISP and demographic profile. + IEA residents to attend the afternoon social. + Incorporate the concept of 'Creating Pleasant Days' into the resident's daily routine. + Integrate the individual resident's life skills into their daily routine. + Blend a variety of multi-sensory experiences into the resident's day. + Participate in monthly letters home and letter writing with the residents and their families. **Training and Contributing to Team Success** + Participate as a member of a team and commits to working toward team goals. + Demonstrate in daily interactions with others, our Team Member Credo. + Commit to serving our residents and guests through our Principles of Service. + Contribute to the overall engagement programs and processes (customer and team member engagement) including participating in the team member engagement survey and engagement improvement planning workshops. + Attend regular meetings; The Lead Care Manager ensures quality care and services are being provided to residents in our care neighborhoods and documented in a consistent manner and in alignment with each resident's Individualized Service Plan (ISP). The Lead Care Manager leads by example in all job responsibilities and is responsible for demonstrating the Mission for Sunrise Senior Living, “to champion quality of life for all seniors” in accordance with federal, state/provincial, and local laws and regulations and Sunrise Senior Living standards, policies, and procedures to promote the highest degree of quality care and services to our residents. RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS Memory Care Part Time - 2nd Shift Essential Duties As a part of the Sunrise team, supporting our Mission, Principles of Service and Core Values is a fundamental part of this job. Our foundational belief is the sacred value of human life. The unique responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the essential functions listed as follows: Provide supervisory support by taking attendance at the beginning of every shift, managing call-offs/no shows, sending open shift messages, and responding to shift requests. Support team members as they provide Activities of Daily Living (ADL) care and services to residents in accordance with their (ISP). This may include bathing, grooming, personal and dental hygiene, bowel and bladder functions, dressing, hair care, escorting to and from meals and activities, and tidying resident room. Support team members as they encourage personalized and meaningful resident participation in life enrichment programming and ADLs. Assist with meal service in dining room. Coach team members on hospitality standards during meal service. Document care and services provided to residents accurately, review care manager documentation throughout shift, and identify and bridge gaps in documentation by coaching team members. Ensure compliance with Sunrise's Timekeeping and Meal/Rest Period policies, monitor team member break schedule and duration, ensure care managers clock in/out using correct job codes, and coach team members as required. Display and encourage flexibility in work schedule by working holidays, evenings, weekends, and additional shifts when necessary. Prepare for shift by obtaining resident group assignments before care managers arrive and print and hand out to appropriate care managers. Participate in crossover meetings by sharing/receiving pertinent information with/from other Lead Care Managers. Carry a resident group assignment on overnight shifts and pick up group assignments in the event of an unfilled call off on day and evening shifts. Cross train and possess credential (including certifications where required by state/province) to safely administer medications if needed during times of high volume or unexpected absence. Lead by example when clocking in/out and taking proper meal/rest breaks. Participate in group interview process including job preview video and community tour. Support onboarding of new team members including shadowing and skills demonstration. Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests by following established safety standards and actively support safety practices. Report incidents and complete appropriate paperwork immediately. Communicate any observed or suspected resident change of condition to the department care coordinator and assist care coordinators, when required, in development and/or updates to ISPs and communicating with residents and families. Prevent and handle conflict by working with the team towards solutions and communicate issues to department care coordinator, when necessary. Contribute to care manager annual performance review by providing feedback to department care coordinator. Project a positive, professional, and friendly image through action, words, and dress. Maintain compliance in assigned required training and all training required by state/province or other regulating authorities as applicable to this role to ensure that Sunrise standards are always met.
