Seasoned industry veteran with extensive consumer finance and litigation experience, both domestically, as well as in many Latin American and Carribean countries. Scope of current responsibilities includes all legal and compliance matters, government affairs, vendor management, complaints and credit bureau dispute validation. Clients include both Flagship Credit Acceptance, an indirect auto lender which purchases $1B+/year of auto loans from car dealers, and CarFinance.com, a direct lender and dot com which fulfills purchase and refinance auto loans electronically. As general counsel, oversee all legal affairs for the companies, including the provision of general operational advice, litigation management, contractual matters, corporate funding and all others. As the companies' chief compliance officer, responsibilities include overseeing the creation, implementation and execution of best-in-class compliance management system and vendor management programs. Also responsible for:Complaint and escalated complaint resolution; licensing and regulatory exams; bankruptcy; pursuit of refunds for cancellable products; dealer disputes; pursuit of deficiency balances; and other matters.
