The General Laborer performs physically demanding tasks to support daily operations in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate must be reliable, punctual, and flexible to work rotating shifts, including day, night, and some cases weekends, and holidays, to ensure continuous operational coverage.
This position involves manual labor, operating basic equipment, and maintaining a safe and clean work area.
Work Environment
This is a hands-on, active role in a warehouse, restaurant, or outdoor worksite.
The environment may be subject to moderate noise levels and varying temperatures.
The company provides personal protective equipment (PPE) for required tasks.
Responsibilities
Loading and unloading: Manually load and unload materials, supplies, and tools from trucks, and trailer.
Material handling: Move materials to and from storage areas, work areas, and shipping bays using hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
Site preparation and cleanup: Clean and prepare worksites by removing debris, trash, and potential hazards. Ensure the work area is clean and organized at the end of each shift.
Equipment operation: Operate and tend to various hand and power tools, production equipment, or basic machinery as directed by a supervisor.
Production support: Assist with production processes, including assembly, sorting, picking, and building products according to specifications.
Inventory management: Count, sort, and label inventory. Report damaged or missing materials to a supervisor.
Safety and compliance: Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures. Report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
Team collaboration: Work cooperatively with other team members and follow instructions from shift supervisors to meet daily production goals.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
Prior experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or construction environment is preferred, but not needed.
Ability to work a rotating schedule that includes day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Physical ability to perform strenuous manual labor, including standing for extended periods, bending, stooping, squatting, and lifting and carrying heavy objects up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Cleans and sets up table for new guests, in a timely manner
Assists guests by clearing dishes, glassware
Removes all trash and debris from bar and dining area floors
Maintains restroom cleanliness, as well as outside parking areas, patio areas, waiting areas
Ensure that all high chairs/booster seats are sanitary
Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
Qualifications
Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
Able to lift up to 50 lbs., lift these heavy loads to high shelves, coolers, freezers
Work in damp, high temperature environment, indoors and minimally outdoors
Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Whale's Rib and Florida statutes
Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Whale's Rib and Florida statutes
Ability to speak, read and write English

Responsibilities

Mixes liquor and drink ingredients according to company recipes and measures
Serves guests in a cheerful and courteous temperament, as well as displays a neat and clean professional image
Maintains a neat and clean, properly stocked bar
Verifies correct pricing for drinks
Ability to serve food according to the Server Job Description requisites
Be knowledgeable of drink promotions and specials, and answer guests' questions verbally and clearly
Accurately enter orders into POS system, in a timely manner
Ability to assess guests' demeanor, identify intoxicated guests and determine when to summon a Manager.
Collect guests' payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensures transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculates and delivers correct change to guests in a timely manner
Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
Qualifications
Can physically stand/walk 100 % of shift
Can reach, bend, stoop, stir, wipe, as well as shake drinks vigorously
Can immerse hands in water frequently

You're Captain of the Kitchen - leading the BOH team through the twists and turn of life in the kitchen (ordering & receiving, prep, service, cleaning, closing, and everything in between). We're looking for passionate cooks who are comfortable both pitching in to help as necessary, and delegating tasks accordingly.
Responsibilities
Must communicate concerning all kitchen issues with management throughout the course of the day
Must read and write (in English) notes in the manager's daily log
Must attend weekly manager's meetings and monthly staff meetings
Must read the weekly memo
Must complete weekly/monthly employee evaluations
Must communicate with all M.O.D. when shift is completed
Must relate an accurate, honest report of all events both positive and negative
Must comply with all policies, rules and directions covered in manuals, memos, and meetings
Must enforce proper measurements, recipe adherence, cleanliness, check time ceilings, and quality control
Must attend the quarterly supervisor meetings
Qualifications
Must have current food management certification
Must possess and demonstrate an ownership mentality
Must have flexibility for scheduling. Flanigan's is open 365 days per year
Must be willing to transfer to a different geographical location
Able to work 5 day work week: 50-55 hours per week
2 days off must fall between Monday-Thurs
Vacations are scheduled between April and November only and must be taken or forfeited
Must be adept at ordering and formulating pars
Must understand, comply, and facilitate Florida State health code standards
Must adhere to Flanigan's always hiring policy and conduct interviews in a timely fashion
Must issue written evaluations for positive and/or negative performances
Must be able to see, speak clearly, listen attentively, taste, and smell
Must be able to read and write English
Requires the ability to stand, and the mobility to move about, at a moderate pace, for up to (4) hours at length and the stamina to work fifty (50) to fifty-five (55) hours per week
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Breaks down and cleans all stations at closing
Qualifications
