Are you looking for an exciting career with a nationally known company and industry leader? AmeriGas Propane, the largest distributor of propane in the United States, is searching for an energetic and customer service-oriented person to join us as a Transport Driver.
Responsibilities:
As a Transport Driver you will drive a tanker truck (11,400 gallon capacity) to pick up propane at the supply point (e.g. refinery, pipeline terminal, storage facility) and deliver it to area AmeriGas facilities. The driver will make four to five pick-ups and deliveries per day, driving an average of 500 miles per day and working up to 14 hours per day. Approximately 80 percent of the driver's time is spent driving or waiting in line at the supply point. Duties include, but are not limited to:
โข Drive the tanker truck to pick up propane at the refinery and deliver to area AmeriGas facilities; approximately 45 minutes is required to load or unload the truck.
โข Attach terminal hoses to the truck connections to pump propane into the tanker.
โข Use permanent hoses attached to the filling ports or the hoses stored in the truck to unload the tanker. The hoses stored on the truck come in two sizes: 20 feet long, three inches in diameter; and 19 feet long, 1ยฝ inches in diameter.
โข Perform twice daily truck inspections.
โข May climb ladders at some AmeriGas facilities to check gauges at the top of the bulk tanks.

Truck Driver Entry Level

Currently we have 12 openings for Class A Truck Driver Trainee's. You have your CDL Class A and can't find carrier's willing to hire you because you have no OTR experience. We will. With us you can build your OTR resume while still driving regionally getting home more often.
Our drivers are averaging $950 to $1250 fresh out of training. Our benefit package is second to none. You can customize your benefit package to suit you and your family. The benefits include free college tuition for you or anyone in your immediate family. We also offer tuition reimbursement for your CDL training up to $7,000.00.
Here's how to move forward. You fill out our application, we will call you and do a short phone interview. If we think you'll
be approved we will help you do the first part of the application during the interview. We will then send you the second part via email.
Once completed most approvals take 24-48 hours. Once approved you then will come to Denver for orientation for 3 days. We will put you up in a hotel. After orientation you will then be hired as a trainee. You will go out with a trainer for 30 days all over the country.
Keep in mind we need drivers right away. You must be willing to get into training within 2 weeks after giving notice at your current job. The holidays are coming up, so please keep this in mind. Your 30 day training will be continuous with no days home. Please do not apply if you need to be home for Thanksgiving.
In training our goal is to mold you into a safe successful Class A driver. Once completed you will come home and take 2-5 days off. Your choice. We then assign you a company truck. You and your terminal manager will pick out one of our many runs that suit you for your required home time for you and/or your family.

Be at least 21 years of age.
Possess a clean DMV report with no serious charges, nothing pending. No suspensions in the last year.
