Key Responsibilities Loading, hauling, and delivering food waste on intra- and interstate routes with multiple stops ranging from 15-25 per day by routing determined by the Company. Delivery equipment ranges from 30-45' open-top dump trailers (combination vehicles) across a regional footprint determined by management. Operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles by DOT requirements as well as all local, state, and federal laws. Operate manual or electric pallet jack as needed. Utilize a pressure washer to rinse bins and containers and leave all client locations clean and free of debris. Perform pre- and post-trip inspections. Typical use of hand tools for basic repairs of company bins and equipment. Maintenance of basic truck equipment and overall cleanliness of equipment. Utilize the electronic logging system for DOT driver logs and as otherwise required. Maintain paperwork (contamination and service tickets, truck maintenance, etc.) and submit all documentation to the appropriate party. Regularly communicate with customers and vendors to ensure seamless operations. Communicate with the corporate office/operations team regularly for all service, equipment, and customer service-related issues. Report all accidents and injuries immediately to the safety manager. Ability to work flexible hours based on seasonality, up to 60 hours in a 7-day week or 70 hours in 8 days. Attend and participate in weekly safety calls, trainings, or briefings. Basic usage of computer and cell phone for training, communication, and expense management Regardless of any regularly scheduled service route assignment, drivers may at any time be scheduled to work a different assignment, including interstate routes. The Class A Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering products to local and out-of-state stores. CDL (class A or B) and medical card (not expired) is required. Driver will unload boxes at customer's site and collect COD, as needed. This position requires bending, standing, driving for prolonged periods of time, heavy lifting (up to 60 lbs.). Use of equipment like hand trucks and pallet jacks. Draw on personal experiences to relate the material presented. Ability to stand and walk for 8-10 hours outside, in all elements, climb in and out of trucks several times a day, and lift and move up to 50 lbs. Minimum Experience Required: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), the Class level must meet the required level of the position High School Diploma or GED. 3 years of verifiable CDL A commercial on-the-road experience within the last 5 years. MVR and background check, which includes a drug screening Ability to pass our road test, as applicable. Will be required to pass a DOT physical and a DOT drug screen. Ability to maintain a valid Medical Examiner Certificate and pass DOT drug tests upon hire and on an ongoing basis, when applicable. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of procedures for and ability to execute a pre-trip inspection, air-brake tests, and CDL driving essentials (i.e., straight-line backing, offset backing, 45-degree alley-docking, parallel parking). Ability to instruct shifting patterns (i.e., driving highway, city, night vs day, in different weather conditions). Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to maintain vehicle equipment.
