Drives truck with capacity of more than 3 tons to transport materials to and from specified destinations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Drives truck to destination in a safe and efficient manner. Delivers and off-loads material. Fill orders in the yard when not on deliveries. Collects payment for goods delivered and for delivery charges. Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations. Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions. Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. Cleans inside of truck. Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs. Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit. QUALIFICATIONS Must have Hawaii CDL Class A Driver's License Detail Oriented Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work overtime as needed. Applicant must provide a driving abstract and previous CDL A driving experience. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - High School diploma or GED and one to two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
