About the role We are seeking a courteous and friendly Transport Driver who can deliver excellent customer service consistently. Drivers must assist clients getting in and out of the vehicle and assist clients with a "through the door" service. Applicants must have a flexible work schedule, to accommodate the business need. The Gurney Van Driver will operate a gurney van equipped to provide nonemergency transport of mobility- impaired individuals to and from hospitals, convalescent facilities, private homes, dialysis units, doctor's offices, rehabilitation centers, etc. in a safe and timely manner. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Picks up patients at home or other facility. Provides the assistance required to safely board patients and caregivers. • Operates Stryker gurney as needed for safe and comfortable patient transportation. • On arrival at medical facility, assists patients in exiting the van and reaching the proper offices or treatment areas. • Checks the van to ensure that no personal items are left behind. • Provides first-aid or CPR if required during patient transport. Immediately notifies emergency staff and dispatcher if skilled assistance is required. • Completes reports at the end of a shift. • Immediately reports traffic accidents to dispatcher, requesting police or ambulance service as needed. Assists injured persons from first-aid kit until these services arrive. Drivers must have transportation to and from work, as the tractor must stay at the terminal. Drivers will be home multiple nights per week. Deliveries will be in and around the Redlands area, but could be farther. Compensation Compensation for California resident professional drivers is comprised of (1) Hourly Pay and (2) Production Pay. The Heavy Truck Driver (Warehouse) performs all duties of a Heavy Truck Driver while providing additional support for warehouse and material handling operations.
