Maintain good working relationship with coworkers and military management personnel utilizing good judgment in recognizing scope of authority. Investigate and adjust customer complaints and concerns regarding fuel systems maintenance. Maintain knowledge of military standards, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFCs), EM-385-1-1 Safety and Health Requirements Manual, OSHA, EPA, and other industry standards. What You'll Bring: Two to five years of experience in liquid fuels maintenance or construction on various types of fuel systems that can include marine loading arms, bulk fuel facilities, hot pit fueling systems, gas station dispensing systems, cathodic protection systems, and leak detection systems. Willing to waive some experience and train the right candidate. High School Diploma/GED Proficient in MS Office suite of tools, including Word and Excel; be capable of uploading daily/weekly field reports with photos to cloud-based information management systems. The mechanic will ensure that all vehicles remain in safe, operational condition and comply with state and federal transportation regulations. This role is essential to supporting the reliable and timely transportation of clients and staff between sites and community-based services. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance & Repairs - Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and necessary repairs on passenger vans (e.g., oil changes, brake servicing, fluid checks, tire rotations, battery testing). - Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and perform repairs in-house when appropriate. - Coordinate and oversee complex repairs with external service providers when necessary. Documentation & Compliance - Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and repair documentation. - Ensure all vans pass state inspections and meet Department of Transportation (DOT) and OSHA safety standards. - Notify the Safety Manager of any vehicles that are out of service or pose a safety risk. Inventory & Parts Management - Track inventory of tools, parts, and maintenance supplies; make recommendations for reordering as needed. - Order and replace necessary parts in a timely and cost-effective manner, with approval from the Safety Manager. Fleet Monitoring & Reporting - Assist in tracking mileage, service intervals, and maintenance schedules for each van. - Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections as requested. - Recommend vehicles for replacement based on age, mileage, and repair history. Collaboration - Work closely with the Safety Manager and Transportation Staff to schedule maintenance without disrupting service delivery. - Participate in fleet safety planning and emergency preparedness related to transportation operations. This role can be based in Anchorage (ANC), Chicago (ORD), Miami (MIA), New York (JFK) or LAX (Los Angeles). Candidates must be local to one of these areas or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance may be provided. Inspect, modify and repair aircraft at the maintenance base and remote locations. Troubleshoots technical discrepancies and executes repairs of company aircraft. Provides guidance to the entry level mechanics/on site contract mechanics on basic tasks and troubleshooting. Proficient in the use of electronic test equipment, voltage/amperage measuring, recording devices and navigation of troubleshooting equipment. May be required to work temporarily at field locations maintaining/repairing equipment, under mentorship 5. Performs other duties as directed. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school education acceptable. 2. Specific exposure to an equipment or maintenance environment. 3. Knowledge of basic hand tools for general equipment repair. 4. Equipment systems experience a plus. 5. Must have effective oral and written communications effective listening skills, and ability to interact with others. 6. 0-3 years of diesel shop experience acceptable.
