Certified Medical Assistant/Certified Nurse Assistant Job in Fleming Island, FL
License Practical Nurse
Provides professional nursing or clinical care for patients following established standards and practices. Prepares patients during office visits and assists patients and family members before, during and after a doctor's visit. Works under the direct supervision of the physician. Refers matters outside their scope of duties to the provider, Clinical Coordinator or Division Administrator.
Triage OB/GYN patients via phone; call patients with test results.Prepare patients for examination and assists physician during treatment/procedures, examinations and testing of patients.Prepares examination rooms, including restocking of supplies in treatment areas.Record patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint.Measure, record and document vital signs.Where applicable, perform phlebotomy, injections and other specimen collection per established policies and procedures as directed by the provider.Prepare and administer medications as directed by a provider.Authorize drug refills as directed.Educate patients by providing information and instructions as directed by the provider; answering questions.Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.Sterilize medical instruments per established standards and procedures.Represent office in a professional manner. Treat all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.Participate in team activities and professional development activities.Attend required meetings.Perform other duties as assigned.Performs general nursing care to patients (including phone and in-person triage), administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids physician during treatment, examinations, and testing of patients.Observes, records, and reports patient's condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to the physician.Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls. Instructs patients and family members regarding medications, test results and treatment instructions.Maintains patient recall lists.Formulates and updates patient care plans, and orders, prepares, and inspects patient charts, records test and examination results in the patient chart.Attends required meetings and participates in team activities and professional development activities.Represents division in a professional manner. Treats all patients, customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent.Minimum of one year nursing experience in a clinic environment.Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Valid Florida LPN or RN license and BLS/CPR certification.Ability to work in a stressful environment in deadline-oriented environment.Ability to communicate with coworkers, provider and patients in an effective manner.Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical record system.Ability to maintain LPN license by successfully completing 24 hours of continuing education hours every two years. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of clinical experience OB/GYN or family practice experience a pluse CW electronic medical records experience helpful

Refers matters outside their scope of duties to the provider, Clinical Coordinator or Unit Administrator.
Prepare patients for examination and assists physician during treatment/procedures, examinations and testing of patients.Prepare, restock and sterilize examination rooms, procedure rooms, lab area and all other patient care areas per established policies and procedures.Record patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint.Measure, record and document vital signs.Where applicable, perform phlebotomy, injections and other specimen collection per established policies and procedures as directed by the provider.Educate patients by providing information and instructions as directed by the provider; answering questions.Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.Sterilize medical instruments per established standards and procedures.Relay messages from patients and front office staff to providers.Represent office in a professional manner. Treat all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.Participate in team activities and professional development activities.Attend required meetings.Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent Medical Assistant Certification from approved entity or Medical Assistant Diploma from an approved entity or3+ years' experience working as a Medical Assistant and performing functions as listed above in Job ResponsibilitiesWorking knowledge of medical terminology Demonstrated ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections, if applicable.Demonstrated ability to perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions.Demonstrated ability to work in a stressful environment in a deadline-oriented environment.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical records application.Ability to obtain and maintain BLS certification and MA certification from an approved entity within the first 90 days of employment PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Possesses both MA Certification and MA DiplomaOB/GYN or primary care practice experience a pluse CW electronic medical records experience helpful
