    The Electronics Systems Engineer leads requirements engineering activities for automotive exterior lighting electronic systems and other emerging automotive electronics systems for Flex-N-Gate. This role focuses on system development and cross-functional coordination to ensure robust and traceable requirements throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities Own and manage system-level requirements for automotive electronics in compliance with ASPICE processes. Develop, refine, and maintain system specifications, interface requirements, and system architecture documentation. Ensure end-to-end traceability of requirements using requirements management tools (e.g., Polarion ALM, DOORS, Jama). Collaborate with hardware, software, validation, and manufacturing teams to translate customer/OEM requirements into clear, actionable system requirements. Support creation of system diagrams, block architectures, wiring/communication interfaces, and validation strategies for new and existing products. Support Functional Safety (ISO 26262) activities, including traceability between system and functional safety requirements. Review OEM specifications and integrate customer requirements into internal system documentation while managing supplier and customer expectations. Support system verification and validation planning (DVP&R), DFMEA contributions, and compliance reviews. Provide technical support during development, launch, and production for issues related to system behavior, requirements interpretation, and change management. Maintain knowledge of automotive electronics technologies, communication protocols (CAN, CAN FD, LIN, hardwire I/O), and regulatory requirements. Present technical information to OEM customers through design reviews, technical discussions, and formal documentation. Ability to be a resident engineer at customers' sites when requested. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field. Experience with requirements engineering in automotive electronics or similar complex systems. Working knowledge of ASPICE system development processes and experience applying them to real projects. Familiarity with ISO 26262 Functional Safety concepts at the system or hardware/software interface level. Understanding of automotive communication networks (CAN, CAN FD, LIN) and/or hardwire-based system interfaces. Experience contributing to system design activities such as DFMEA, DVP&R, architecture development, or system validation. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Preferred Master's degree in a related engineering discipline. 5-10+ years' experience in electronics Systems Engineering Hands-on experience using Polarion ALM, DOORS, or similar requirements management platforms. Automotive electronics experience related to lighting, controllers, wiring harnesses, sensors, actuators, or embedded systems. Background in electronic system modeling, simulation, or analysis tools (e.g., PSpice, MathCAD, Altium). Exposure to EMC and Environmental requirements, thermal considerations, and design-for-manufacturability principles.
