Responsibilities
The Press Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the printing press while maintaining quality meeting the customer specifications.
Summary of essential job functions
• Provide work direction to press team throughout make ready and operating cycle.
• Operate press, troubleshoot and make process adjustments for optimum quality.
• Monitor work in process for efficient adherence to specifications.
• Coach and train other crew members in accomplishing team objectives.
• Inspects cartons and color register and provides technical guidance to other team members.
• Performs other duties as required
• Responsible for operating within policies & procedures, and maintaining compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements; including compliance with Occupational Health and Safety procedures
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Three (3) years of successful flexo press operator experience, including UV
• Demonstrated ability to make-ready the press
• Demonstrated understanding of color matching
• Attention to detail in communication and documentation
• Basic computer skills - Word, Excel and Outlook
• Ability to read and interpret information, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills.

Pay offered is $22 - $28/hr. depending on experience, plus $250 Signing Bonus
Primary Functions and Responsibilities
- Ensures that the job is set up properly with Press Assistant
- Monitor the printing process to maintain print quality.
- Perform routine maintenance on schedule and according to procedure to promote machine stability and dependability.
- Assists in training individuals and other team members as assigned.
- Complies with established safety procedures and policies.
- Works with other departments and maintenance personnel on projects and/or validations.
- Focuses on Continuous Improvement, Quality, Improved Cycle Times, Safety, Cost Reductions, and Customer Satisfaction.
- Complies with company policies, procedures, and core processes.

Job Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED required
- Previous print industry experience is required.
- 3 yrs. min. Flexographic Printing experience preferred
- Possess excellent computer skills
- Prior experience troubleshooting printing-related challenges
- Knowledge/experience of plates, stocks, cold foils, hot stamps, screens, inks, and varnishes
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to lift 20 pounds continuously, the ability to lift up to 50 pound.
- Must be able to stand for the majority of the shift.
- Must be able to differentiate and reduce between color variance.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, grasp and reach frequently.
- Willingness to work overtime, and if needed weekends.
- Ability to work well with others.

**TheOpportunity:**
The Lansing Facility is seeking a Flexo Label Press Operator to set up, operate, and maintain a
multi color Flexographic press including Comco's, Mark Andy's, and Webtrons,
using UV waterbase inks. Manage all
aspects of press performance including productivity, quality and
maintenance. This position will work a 36-hour
work week (Three 12-hour shifts).
**Daily Expectations/Tasks:**
Ensures that product is printed according to specifications.
Pulls job tickets and verifies stock, inks, and dies are available and used as specified.
Performs line clearance by following line clearance SOP.
Pulls spec, verifies aniloxes, ink colors, die outline, stock, and special instructions.
Sets up machine; installs aniloxes, inks, correct stock, die, and plates.
Sets impressions and registers print-to-print and print-to-die.
Completes all start-up checks, verifies scan ability of bar code, and gets start approval.
Completes in-process inspections; follows work instructions and control plan.
Finishes job by verifying end to start approval.
Closes out job by completing paperwork and placing in ticket with product.
Performs general maintenance to press.
Follows 6S guidelines assigned to work area and surrounding areas.
Performs other job duties as assigned.
