Float teller job description

:Travel to various branch locations as directed to assist members and potential members with their Credit Union financial needs in a prompt, friendly, efficient manner, both in person and on the phone. Refer members to appropriate Credit Union personnel for services outside the scope of given responsibility.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:



Processes member financial transactions. Identifies cross-sell opportunities for new/existing members to enhance their relationship with the Credit Union. Balances cash and negotiable instrument transactions daily; sells cash to vault to maintain approved cash limit. Posts vault tickets and balances vault under dual control. Resolves member questions and concerns in person and over the phone. Promotes and participates in any branch promotion and/or Credit Union campaigns. Performs other duties as assigned.



Experience:
Six months or more cash handling experience and/or six months or more customer service experience is required. Six months or more teller experience preferred.


Education
: A high school diploma or GED.


Other Skills Required
:


Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including business writing ability. Excellent time management skills, organization and accustomed to working with deadlines. Must possess mathematical ability to preform very basic math skills. Strong customer service orientation and detailed oriented.

Position Purpose:

Ensures that members are promptly and professionally served by performing teller functions, performing a broad variety of member services functions or promoting/cross selling credit union products and services. Providing operational support to various Genisys locations.

Job Duties (include but not limited to):

Performing financial transactions such as cash withdrawals, deposits, transfers, loan payments and more per credit union practices and policies Cross selling credit union products and services to provide high quality member service and reach credit union goals and objectives Balances daily transactions and verifies cash totals. Investigates and resolves out-of-balance conditions. Ensures that members' requests and questions are promptly resolved whether in person, over the phone, or via other communication methods Ensures that the Credit Union's quality reputation is maintained and projected Travels to various Genisys locations


Qualifications:


High School Graduate or equivalent required Customer service experience preferred Sales experience preferred Cash handling experience helpful Reliable Transportation required

Meet and exceed Teller referral expectations by acquiring and maintaining knowledge of bank products and financial services. Educate customers on bank products and financial services and make referrals to a banker when a potential opportunity has been identified. This may include participation in 'Call Nights'.

Maintain operational standards including balancing cash drawers at the end of each shift, processing CTR reports and transactions, and opening and closing procedures of the branch. May also include ATM and vault balancing, opening and closing procedures of the branch, etc. Acquire and maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, guidelines and bank operating systems
