• Must understand and choose the correct chemical and mixture for the equipment being used and the floor being addressed.
• Candidates must possess the ability to work alone and prioritize work assignments in order to complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Candidates should also have the ability to adapt to changing assignments quickly and manage multiple tasks.

JOB SUMMARY :

This position is responsible for ensuring proper plant sanitation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.

1. Adhere to all safety polices and procedures.
2. Removing potato and other debris from floor and non-food contact surfaces.
3. Sanitize floors according to prescribed schedule in a manner to not cross contaminant food contact surfaces.
4. Maintain floor cleaning check off sheet.
5. Removing all potato debris from clean room using dump hopper.
6. Clean and maintain dump hopper totes and equipment.
7. Effectively communicating relevant information to fellow employees on the shift and to on-coming employees at shift change.
8. Communicating all process inefficiencies, equipment malfunctions, safety concerns and GMP issues to the department Lead and/or Supervisor.
9. Maintaining good housekeeping throughout the department per the daily sanitation checklist.

In order to promote a manufacturing environment that is safe and efficient for both personnel and food, the ability to effectively communicate in basic English (both verbal and written) is required. This includes the ability to speak, read and comprehend safety instructions, rules and warnings for self and others in both normal and emergency situations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations.

Job Description

* Floor care including waxing and stripping
* Notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems
* Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures
* Cleaner must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned.
* Previous floor care experience is preferred, as well as knowledge of chemicals, cleaners, application practices and maintenance of floor care equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

* Floor care including waxing and stripping
* Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
* Sometimes using ladders, dusts and washes furniture, walls, machines, and equipment; cleans ceilings, dusts, and polishes light fixtures. Washes and replaces blinds.
* Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas, either manually or by using hand trucks
* May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions. Mixes water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications
* Strips, seals, finishes, and polishes floors
* Cleans and vacuums carpeted areas, including application of spot cleaning treatment
* Gathers and empties trash
* Wipes and cleans tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas
* Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures
* Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms
* Periodically cleans overhead vents, dusts blinds, and polishes wood furniture
* Cleans interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
* Sprays insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation
* Sets up, arranges, and removes decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings
* Must keep janitor's closet neat and orderly and maintain equipment in good working order
* Monitors building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliances used to ensure that hazards are not created
* May be expected to make basic repairs
* Miscellaneous duties as assigned

Qualifications

* Must be able to use the cleaning equipment/chemicals including but not limited to Floor Scrubbers, Vacuums, Blowers, Degreaser, Multi-Purpose, Enzymes, etc.
* Must be able to operate all cleaning equipment and machinery.
* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
* Must be able to stop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, push and pull
