Usually, floor hands don't need a college education. The most common degree for floor hands is high school diploma with 57% graduates, with only 14% floor hand graduates earning associate degree. Floor hands who decided to graduate from college often finish Texas A&M; University or South Texas College. Some good skills to have in this position include tongs, fall protection and safety equipment.
