POSITION SUMMARY:
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is currently seeking experienced Law Enforcement Investigators to fill multiple Special Agent positions throughout the state. To be considered as a potential applicant, you must meet the minimum requirement(s) listed below. Positions are available in Miami, Ft. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Special Agents are sworn law enforcement officers who assist the state's criminal justice community by providing a variety of services including:
* Identifying and investigating organized and multi-jurisdictional crimes;
* Apprehending fugitives;
* Collecting and disseminating criminal intelligence information;
* Investigating public corruption;
* Seizing illegally obtained assets;
* Dismantling criminal organizations;
* Assisting in locating missing persons; and
* Providing protective services to Florida's Governor and other dignitaries.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Four (4) years of sworn law enforcement experience, two of which must be investigative, and applicant must possess current law enforcement certification.

BASE SALARY:
Persons selected will be hired at $66,150.00 and increases are granted based upon appropriations as determined by the Florida Legislature. The annual salary for this position in Monroe, Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach counties will be increased by $4,999.80.
Salary for the position will be commensurate with experience and training.

HIRING PROCESS:

What You Will Do:
The primary function of this position is providing support services related to government assistance eligibility in a call center setting. The work performed includes processing a broad range of customer service activities and entering information into a computer-based eligibility system. This career consists primarily of phone interactions with customers.
The Typical Duties Include:
* Answers general inquiry eligibility questions related to program requirements, application processing, case status, and benefit information.

Duties and Responsibilities: This is advanced professional work assessing and developing Child Protective Investigators (CPIs) to ensure possession of the appropriate level of professional competencies. This position will work in cooperation with CPI Supervisors and management in promoting the development of knowledge, skills, and their application for CPIs.
* Observe and document investigator casework activities in providing protective investigations, assessment of service needs, and referrals to service providers.
* Provide qualitative, performance reviews and assessments of child welfare practices.
* Reviews casework, assessments and safety plans with investigators, and provides consultation and direction to ensure appropriateness, clarity, quality, thoroughness and proper documentation.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is an advanced professional position in a county wide disease prevention program. The position requires utilization of complex epidemiological analytic techniques and involves collection of information regarding individual case reports, as well as participation in outbreak investigations. * Conducting Complex Research studies for surveillance of disease and disease syndromes (of individuals and population outbreaks) to include diseases associated with food, water, and those suspected of being due to a weapon of mass destruction biological agents. This process would include interviewing individuals and writing up these reports so they can be submitted to the electronic database. This may also entail questionnaire and interview design. Will also advise patients regarding their disease and how to prevent future occurrence (if the disease can recur).
* Initiate case investigations for reported diseases on the direction of surveillance and investigation supervisors during specified time intervals. This may include appropriate and targeted field investigations and notification of managers for appropriate action. The position involves looking at the data entered and writing reports. Also, provide oral and written presentations to both health department employees and the community.
* Investigate specialized research projects and give recommendations.
* Communications - Participate in teleconferences, Epicom, and various meetings where regional and state information is shared. Will visit and consult with community health care providers giving information to the current reporting requirements for communicable disease.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Willing to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. This may include working in a special needs or Red Cross shelter, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Case Management, Referrals, Recommendations and Assessment
Initiate contact with the youth, family, victims, and law enforcement when referrals are received by the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (FDJJ). Conduct home and school visits as an integral part of the information gathering process and family involvement model.
Obtain and review collateral information such as abuse and neglect history, educational, mental health, substance use, gang related activity and other pertinent information from other agencies involved with the youth and/or family.
Conduct and document FDJJ screening(s), to identify the youth's risk and needs, protective factors and/or the need for further evaluations, including but not limited to detention screening, intake screening, Suicide Risk Screening Instrument, and any Department approved risk/needs screening and/or assessment instrument(s).
Formulate case management strategies based on assessments and/or information gathered to address the specific needs of the youth and family.
Make service referrals to the appropriate provider (s) and follow up actions needing to be taken.
Make supervision and treatment recommendations to the State Attorney and other judicial partners that allow the Department to provide the most appropriate services in the least intrusive manner.
Complete the screening instruments and reports used by the Department and/or the courts that include but are not limited to the following:
Detention Screening Risk Assessment (DRAI), Suicide Risk Screening Instrument (SRSI), Department approved risk/needs screening/assessment instrument(s) and case plan, Pre-Post Disposition Report, Adult Sentencing Summary Report, Progress (Status) Report, Electronic Commitment Packet, and Termination of Supervision.
Court Process
Acts as the DJJ representative during court hearings to support the Department's recommendation for the youth, family, and community.
Prepare and maintain current social histories, court reports, referral letters, and related correspondence.
Testify at hearings, when appropriate.
Prepare affidavits/petition for Violation of Probation for any violation that result in the filing of a delinquency petition.
Request hearings when appropriate.
Case Management, Interventions & Supervision
Complete a risk and needs assessment using the appropriate Department approved instrument(s) for all youth screened/supervised by the department.
Conduct face-to-face contacts in the home, school and varied community-based settings by interacting with the youth, family and community during non-traditional hours (weekends and evening hours) in addition to business hours.
Maintain communication based on departmental requirements for all stages of youth and family involvement; gain firsthand knowledge of where the youth resides, the family, the youth's immediate and extended environment by meeting in different locations, including the detention centers, schools, homes, out-of-home placements, place of employment, community sites, other agencies, treatment providers and offices.
Assist the youth with obtaining appropriate mental health, substance abuse evaluations based on administered assessments, and arrange for specialized testing and treatment, as needed.
Assist youth and family with school and after school enrollment; maintain school contact, verifying school attendance, academic performance, and behavior.
Provide crisis intervention; assist the youth and family in accessing crisis intervention services/resources by making necessary referrals and follow-up on actions taken.
Work with the youth to establish personal goals/ plans and provide ongoing support to help youth achieve their goals and maintain skills.
Discuss with youth and family projected timeframes for completion of goals, sanctions/conditions of supervision and anticipated date for termination of supervision based on progress and as ordered by the court.
Respond to concerns, needs, and risks as presented by youth, family, and the community by staffing cases, plans or violations with the unit supervisor in accordance with existing departmental policies, procedures, administrative rules, and FL statutes. Determine recommended handling of law violations and provide appropriate interventions when a youth violates the conditions of supervision based on the Effective Response Matrix and follow up on actions taken in response to a violation.
Conduct staffing when benchmarks occur, case milestones are achieved by the youth and or family or case is complex and in need of additional considerations (i.e. when youth is still securely detained a certain number of days pre-adjudication or post disposition, or beyond a timeframe identified in statute, when youth have completed all court ordered requirements and conditions of supervision, or violated supervision, and when transition and exit conferences are scheduled for a set number of days prior to the youth's release from residential commitment, complex cases).
Participate in transition and exit planning to finalize plans for the youth pending release from residential programs, which includes referrals for post-residential services to for mental health, substance abuse, education and workforce services.
Records Management
Enter into Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS) all case management activities, including risk/needs screening, assessment and case planning activities related to the youth and family during youth's involvement in the juvenile justice continuum.
Upload required forms/ documents into the Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS) case file to ensure accurate and timely entries, in accordance with administrative and JJIS business rules.
Community Collaboration
Ensure familiarity with community resources and provide input to circuit management on provider community-based service delivery issues and program developments, and provide input on grant related proposals, if requested.
Attend and participate in professional development trainings and meetings.
Follow all departmental policies, procedures and administrative rules.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A valid driver's license is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference may be given to candidates with a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university at the time of submission of the candidate profile OR

Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Under supervision, the vet assistant carries out essential routine and non-routine tasks within work parameters assisting veterinary and administrative staff in enforcing both the Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering and Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority (HISA) regulations, standards, procedures, and chain-of-custody protocols at licensed and regulated pari-mutuel facilities within the State of Florida. The duties are as follows:
* Ensuring a safe, secure, and healthy detention barn work environment by following chain-of-custody protocols and monitoring and enforcing detention barn area security, sanitations, and safety regulations; maintaining detention barn stalls and barn area to ensure they are always clean and free of safety hazards.
* Monitoring and enforcing compliance with applicable Florida rules relating to the detention and handling of horses at licensed racetrack facilities.
* Verifying document identification of horses designated for specimen collection.
* Escorting designated horses from the finish line to the detention barn for the purpose of facilitating specimen collection.
* Ensuring compliance with biological specimen collection, documentation, storage, shipping, and chain-of-custody procedures for specimens that must be subsequently shipped offsite for comprehensive testing.
* Ensuring racehorses are treated properly and humanely by observing the behavior of animals, trainers, and other personnel within the detention barn area and reporting recognized anomalies to supervisor.

Overview:
This full-time Other Personal Services (OPS) position is based out of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's (FWC) Florida Youth Conservation Centers Network (FYCCN). The FWC is seeking a self-motivated, energetic, outcome-oriented individual to work as part of the Summer Camp Counselor team at the Everglades Youth Conservation Center (EYCC) in West Palm Beach. The incumbents will work with the summer camp team to deliver experiential programs designed to engage youth with Florida's ecosystems through outdoor recreation. EYCC is a residential summer camp and sees as many as 800 participants throughout the summer. The incumbents will supervise campers during daily activities as assigned and sleep in the cabins with campers at night. Incumbents will also be responsible for cabin safety inspections, leading night activities, shower rotations, and check out procedures. Incumbents may be assigned a different program each week and will supervise as many as 14 campers at a time with an assisting Counselor or Instructor.

The Officer assigned to this position has the responsibility of supervising Correctional Officers and Correctional Officer Sergeants assigned to any security post on any of the established shifts. This position serves as the initial Commander during emergency situations. Also plans, organizes and coordinates the activities of all Correctional Officers and Correctional Officer Sergeants assigned to a shift.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Delegates post assignments, specific duty assignments, coordinates leave use and ensures accurate completion of attendance and leave reports. Works with lead officers to ensure proper security coverage. Conducts periodic individual counseling with staff to outline problem areas and give additional duties or instructions.
Supervises searches for contraband and makes daily inspections of buildings and grounds. Inspects physical plant for security concerns and to maintain proper sanitation standards. Functions as facility manager during non-administrative hours.
Circulates throughout institution observing employees' performance. Conducts performance evaluations. Schedules and/or coordinates training programs for subordinates. Conducts continuous training of subordinate staff in security procedures and performance. Takes and recommends non-appealable disciplinary action and recommends appealable disciplinary action to higher level management.
Supervises and coordinates body cavity searches as authorized by the Warden. Authorizes non-emergency applications of use of force. Supervises inmates commensurate with the level of risk they present. Manages inmate housing areas, enforces rules and sanitation standards. Transports inmates using approved restraints and observing relevant laws, policies and procedures. Conducts accurate head counts, maintains custody and control over inmates at appointments outside the secured perimeter and escorts inmates within the secured perimeter. Performs crisis intervention functions to include but not limited to subduing violent or uncooperative inmates, defending persons against attack, or preventing escapes, using approved deadly or non-deadly force, restraints or other approved methods. This will include the visual inspection of body cavities and possible exposure to body fluids.
Observes inmate behavior to identify inmates exhibiting mental or emotional disorders, using counseling techniques or referral action as outlined in written policies or guidelines.
Provides emergency assistance during emergencies, disasters and accidents to include but not limited to CPR, first aid, apprehension of escaping or escaped inmates, implementation of evacuation procedures, security of inmates and/or areas in accordance with the emergency situation.
