Responsibilities Provide full law enforcement/police services at Aviation facilities by enforcing applicable laws, ordinances, administrative orders, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. The Akron-Summit County Public Library seeks off-duty Akron Police Officers to fill shifts (minimum of three hours) at Main Library and city branches (Ellet, Firestone Park, Goodyear, Highland Square, Kenmore, and Maple Valley). Duties include patrolling Library buildings, grounds, and parking lots; monitoring electronic or video security system; observing customer behavior and intervening when problems occur as directed by Library staff; advising Library customers of behavior guidelines and enforcing those guidelines; helping with the evacuation or movement of the employees and public in emergency situations; and completing incident reports as necessary.
