DES is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA). This position will report to the Supervisor and provide vocational rehabilitation counseling and guidance to individuals with disabilities to address barriers to employment and gain the skills to enter, gain, or retain employment. This position will serve in a hybrid work environment.
Based on your qualifications, you will be placed in one of the following tiers:
• Entry Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor
Bachelor's degree in a field of study reasonably related to rehabilitation counseling or another field that reasonably prepares individuals to work with individuals with disabilities and employers and two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities
• Intermediate Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor
Master's degree in a field of study closely related to rehabilitation counseling and one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities (Closely related fields are defined by Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification.)
• Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor
Meets Intermediate credential requirements plus has a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) certification
Annual salary is commensurate with education and qualifications, ranging from $48,510.17 to $55,440.52
Travel will be required for client meetings, outreach/events, office coverage.
Travel will be required for State business. If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on State business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on State business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code [A.A.C.] R2-10-207.11).
This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (minimum 2 days per week in the office/hoteling).

Job Duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Entry Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor
• Introduces clients to the vocational rehabilitation program including program eligibility criteria and client's right and responsibilities
• Reviews client's medical and/or psychological information to identify employment needs and goals as well as available services and resources
• Provides vocational counseling, career exploration, and labor market exploration to determine suitable employment goals
• Meets with clients on a one-on-one basis to problem solve and establish or modify an Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE)
• Provides case management and maintains regular contact with clients, service providers, and collaborative programs, and assess services and IPE progress
• Manages fiscal resources including authorizing, reviewing, and payment of services
Intermediate Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor
• Same duties as listed above and the following duties:
• Provides case management to clients with complex needs and goals
• Serves as program liaison for specialized groups
• Provides guidance to Entry Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors
Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor
• Same duties listed above and the following duties:
• May serve as back up to the Rehabilitation Supervisor
• Provides case management to clients with high complexity level
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
• Knowledge of Federal and State laws, statutes, rules, regulations pertaining to vocational rehabilitation services
• At least one year of case management experience
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities
• Broad knowledge of physical, mental, and cognitive disabilities
• Familiar with referral and community resources
• Understands computer access technology and assistive aids & devices
• Knowledge of occupational opportunities and labor market trends
• Ability to motivate clients in achieving goals
• Effective oral and written communication
• Strong time management skills
• Resourceful and problem solver
• Excellent interpersonal skills
Pre-Employment Requirements:
• Candidates for this position shall be subject to a search of both the Child Protective Services Central Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 8-804 and the Adult Protective Services Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 46-459.
• Candidate shall have or meet the requirements to obtain prior to their first day of employment, a valid Level One Arizona fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-1758.07 in order to work with children and vulnerable adults.

This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (minimum 2 days per week in the office/hoteling).

Shift Sergeants will be assigned to work second (2nd) shift hours; Good days will be assigned as split weekends-Fri/Sat and Sun/Mon. (For those facilities funded for 3 shift sergeants, the 3rd set of good days will be Tue/Wed or Wed/Thur.)
Shift Sergeants will be directly supervised by the shift supervisor. Shift Sergeants will be given daily assignments by the shift supervisor.
A Shift Sergeant will serve as a lead worker (i.e., will provide daily work direction, training, and mentoring) to Correction Officers. Shift Sergeants will not be supervisors over Correction Officers.
Acts as a lead worker and supports correction officers in the supervision of incarcerated individuals. Provides guidance and coordinates activities of correction officers and incarcerated individuals assigned to living service and work areas (e.g., mailroom, visiting, dining areas).
Makes meaningful rounds in living areas and other areas where incarcerated individuals are assigned
Monitors compliance with post order
Observes and promotes sanitation throughout the institution
Prevents escapes and apprehends escapees
Uses appropriate force, when necessary
Resolves incarcerated individual disputes
Investigates complaints of abuse and/or refers to investigator
Offers guidance to incarcerated individuals with personal, institutional and/or adjustment problems Investigates incidents of disruptive activity including but not limited to theft, extortion, gambling and dealing
Develops, implements, monitors and conducts meaningful activities for incarcerated individuals including skill building, recreational and organized resident group activities
Facilitates the delivery of required services to the institutional population
Responds to the concerns of staff and needs of incarcerated individuals.
Responds to emergencies and security alerts
Conducts routine sanitation and security inspections within living and or work areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations, possible contraband and general security
Performs related security functions as required (e.g., individual and area searches and property limit compliance monitoring)
Acts as hearing officer in disciplinary process
Gathers information and writes reports covering accidents, incidents, and disciplinary actions
Schedules work assignments for incarcerated individuals

We need trained and licensed counselors and therapists to help make a difference for our communities as we face mental health and substance abuse challenges in Ohio.
What do you need for this opportunity? A Master's degree in Social work or Clinical Counseling with an LISW / LPCC or higher, valid in the state of Ohio. Five (5)+ year's post-licensure counseling work experience with documented supervision. Previous work experience in community behavioral health and in a remote setting, preferred. Applicants MUST have counseling license valid in the State of Ohio to be considered for the opportunity.
You will regularly use various computer apps including Microsoft Office, our HRIS, EHR and other online systems, with multiple logins often simultaneously. We supply all the equipment that you'll need to be successful.
How you'll make a difference:
You can help make a difference for communities by providing a range of assessment and mental health counseling and therapy to children, adolescents, adults and families. Help your clients in active change-oriented treatment by identifying and overcoming barriers to engagement.
Make an impact with your clients by providing crisis intervention and emergency services as the needs arise and develop treatment plans with your clients. You will also record your client's progress, complete client instruments, and maintain necessary records and files.
Maintain a strengths-based approach while working with your clients. You will also establish a mutually respectful relationship and implement interventions that are necessary to meet the needs of your clients in a team based environment.
Complete referrals to other agency programs or external service providers as deemed clinically appropriate.

About the Position:
As a Youth Engagement Specialist, you will create a positive and enriching experiences by engaging youth and their caregivers in conversation and activities and promoting literacy and reading. You will help develop and deliver quality programs and informal engagements aligned with our library's Young Minds Strategy, designed to help youth establish the foundation for a successful life. Additionally, you may conduct outreach to schools and other organizations serving youth and/or perform collection management activities.
The Young Minds Strategy focuses on three (3) categories:
* Ready for Kindergarten; building kindergarten readiness skills for ages 0-5
* Third Grade Reading; supports and promotes early literacy development for K-3rd grade
* High School Graduation; support and preparation for tweens and teens
Position Schedule
* Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 3:00-7:00pm
* Friday/Saturday rotation 9:00am-6:00pm
* Sunday 1:00-5:00pm (as assigned)
What You'll Do:
* Proactively provides a high level of customer service by engaging youth and families in usage of library resources, activities and programs.
* Creates a safe, welcoming environment that balances a fun atmosphere, engaging activities and relationship building, while supporting youth development and learning.
* Plans, promotes and presents programs and informal engagements for children of all ages at the location and off-site.
* Answers customer questions and provides customer service throughout the building. Makes referrals by locating appropriate sources of information using a variety of tools and resources.
* Connects with schools and community organizations to promote Young Minds programs and services through presentations, community events and networking.
* Works to diffuse youth confrontations, mediate and reduce tensions.
* Performs collection management activities for juvenile materials as directed. Creates displays and merchandises materials.
* Directs volunteer and volunteen activities including orienting, training and scheduling.
* Ensures that the children's and teen areas are neat, orderly and appealing to customers and staff.
* Maintains personal skills and knowledge through engagement with library trainings, reviewing resources and professional development conversations with other youth services staff members.
* Utilizes computer applications and library equipment, maintains current knowledge of system wide and location specific procedures, processes, policies and operations.
* Supports library policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct, by following up with customers when necessary; alerts Security Officer and/or manager about suspicious behavior and similar risks to safety and security.
* Performs other duties as assigned including serving on taskforces, committees, etc.
* Assumes responsibility for the operation of the location in the absence of a manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree required.
* 2-3 years' experience working with youth or community engagement required.
* Experience delivering programs and services to diverse audiences preferred.
* Interest and ability to serve and develop rapport with youth and their caregivers.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to operate library technology including personal computer, email, software programs (i.e., Windows/Microsoft Office) and other job-related equipment and systems.
* Ability to utilize reliable transportation to promptly report to job assignment and other locations, per job requirements.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, libraries, and residences or commercial vehicles (e.g., use of safe workplace practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, and/or working in moderate outdoor weather conditions).
Work requires occasional lifting or pushing of up to 50 lbs. and the frequent lifting or pushing of up to 20 lbs.
