The company is involved in the transportation of freight, including crushed rock, automobiles, food products, chemicals, and other industrial products in conventional freight cars; and intermodal shipments of containers and trailers on flatcars. In addition, it provides car hire and demurrage, real estate lease, ancillary dray, switching, and other transportation services. The company owned or leased diesel electric locomotives, freight cars, trailers, containers, and chassis for highway service; and various pieces of rail-mounted work equipment and automobiles used in maintenance and transportation operations.
