POSITION SUMMARY:
Plans, implements and evaluates all activities of the hospital wide Risk Management/Patient Safety program including identifying and assessing potential risk, planning and implementing loss control activities, structuring and presenting risk educational programs, insuring adequate risk financing, managing internal claims control activities and maintaining appropriate Risk Management records. Provide a summary report to the governing body. Investigates, reports, tracks and trends potential risk for professional and general liability as well as for reporting to hospital committees and Chair/co-lead hospital Patient Safety Committee. Responsible to code and review all incident reports, patient's grievances related to quality of care and initiate follow-up investigations when deemed necessary. Shall have healthcare knowledge, compliance with prompt reporting of adverse incidents, as well as knowledge of the standard Risk Management practices as they relate to ACHA, HRS, DPR, Joint Commission, the Florida Administrative Code, Florida Statutes, investigate allegations of sexual misconducts and policies and procedures which govern the function of a hospital. Possess excellent communication skills, critical thinking skills, ability to work with various personnel, making recommendations for corrective actions and the capability of motivating others. Is the designated Patient Safety Officer.

Position Summary:
Performs analysis on body fluids and exudates from hospital in-patients and out-patients to provide information for diagnosing and combating diseases. Successful completion a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemical Science, or Biological Science from an accredited institution, including at least 24 semester hours of academic science (6 hours in biological sciences and 6 hours in chemical sciences) and at least 12 months of training in a clinical laboratory of a hospital accredited by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), or a B.S. in Medical Technology, or an A.A. in Medical Laboratory Science with a full semester of Hospital Training. If the degree is from outside the U.S., an equivalency evaluation may be required to meet staff sign-off requirements.
Required licensures/certifications
State of Florida supervisor's license in one or all disciplines.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Shift Hours: Nights-FLEXIBLE
Prepares solutions, labels tubes and specimen containers, collects specimens and performs simple tests under supervision. Performs routine technical and clerical functions. May operate simple lab equipment under supervision. Processes anatomic pathology and cytology specimens. Assists pathologists as needed. Uses, maintains, and cleans laboratory equipment and uses protective equipment to protect form exposure to chemical, radiation and infectious hazards. Must be knowledgeable of emergency procedures. Responsible for obtaining blood specimens from patients and for the clerical function of the laboratory including maintenance of all data processing equipment, processing and distribution of patient specimens, organization of laboratory test requests, charting of laboratory reports, and communication between nursing units and the laboratory. Assists students in the specific area for development of technical, clinical, and problem solving. Performs additional duties as needed and or assigned.
