    The incumbent serves as a senior-level faculty member in cancer epidemiology research. As a ranked professorial faculty position at USF, the incumbent will have teaching, scholarship, and service responsibilities. In addition, the incumbent will serve as a senior researcher in the Cancer Control, Prevention, and Epidemiology Program at the TGH Cancer Institute, collaborating with faculty in USF Health on translational and population-based cancer research. The incumbent will report directly to the Chair of the Department of Epidemiology who will meet annually with the incumbent to discuss the specific assignment for the upcoming assignment year and to review performance during the previous year. The CRMHC Program is housed within the Department of Child and Family Studies in the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences at USF. It offers a comprehensive suite of CACREP-accredited graduate and undergraduate programs, including: Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Master of Arts in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling and Disability Sciences (fully online) An undergraduate minor and undergraduate certificate in Addiction and Substance Abuse These programs prepare students to become Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs) and Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRCs), with a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, and service to individuals with disabilities and mental health needs. The department seeks a quantitative social scientist whose research focuses on media using computational methods. The ideal candidate will conduct theory-driven, empirical communication research; have a promising or demonstrated outstanding research record; and the potential for obtaining external funding. The ideal candidate may focus on media from a variety of perspectives (e.g. audiences, content, effects, institutions, processes, systems) and topical areas (e.g. artificial intelligence, campaigns, entertainment, health, identity, information quality/integrity, literacy, politics, popular culture, publics, social media, and social movements). Computational approaches to these media perspectives and topics can integrate, but are not limited to: semantic network analysis, social network analysis, data analytics, data visualization, machine learning (ML), or natural language processing. Department faculty embrace a range of humanistic and social scientific modes of communication inquiry. Faculty seek a colleague whose research engages innovative approaches to media and computational methods and can speak to the implications of their work for difference, belonging, and/or representation.
