Our Taneytown, MD Pump Manufacturing facility is over 150,000 square feet and provides capability for engineering, design, customer service, machining, assembly, and testing for a diverse product portfolio, which serves all markets (power, oil & gas, water resources, general industry, and chemical). The facility has expanded four times since opening in 1971 to accommodate revenue growth and product line developments. The entire project lifecycle is experienced all under the same roof.
Summary:
Flowserve is looking for a Machine Operator (Deburr/Grind) at our manufacturing facility in Taneytown, MD. The individual will perform a variety of tasks within our Burr Balance department including precision tool grinding, the use of overhead jib cranes, ergonomics, and inspection equipment. Shift: 1st shift (Monday-Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm)
Responsibilities:
Will read and document scales to verify parts are in conformance
Utilize hand tools to deburr, cut, and polish parts
Operate overhead and jib cranes to lift and move heavy parts
Will be required to work in other areas of department when needed
Will use hand tools, air tools, die grinders and hand drills
Responsible for accurate completion of certification reports
Adhere to all Safety Procedures & Policy. Complete all Pure Safety and other safety training as required
Requirements:
Ability to work in a team-oriented and CIP environment
Ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions
Basic shop math skills
Able to stand for long periods, repetitive arm motions, frequent lifting with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work overtime as required
Preferred skills:
Previous experience in machining or similar field.
Experience in using and interpreting precision measuring instruments, such as tape measures and machinist scales.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, geometric tolerances, and finishes during the application of machining.

Duties will Include the following:
Operates Plasser Shoulder Ballast Cleaners and Undercutting machines to perform the work the machine is designed for.
Inspects and maintains trucks and equipment on a daily basis.
Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures.
Performs daily equipment safety and maintenance checks, making emergency adjustments as necessary and documentation per daily inspection and repairs reports.
Takes actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
Studies instructions, plans, and diagrams to establish work requirements.
Performs mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs in the field and or the shop.

Orders parts on their own and communicates with appropriate railroad representative
Keeps records of material and equipment usage and problems.
Coordinate work schedules with Railroad EIC, third party contractors and others.

Document job progress and maintain a safe and clean workplace.
Plans the day-to-day operations with customer on assigned task and ensures that proper resources are in place for the timely completion of work, including labor, tools, equipment and material.

Manual Sorting and Stacking: Hand-sort parts and stack materials as required, contributing to the efficiency of the production line.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
Experience in warm and cold forging processes is advantageous.

Flowserve is looking for a Machine Operator (Deburr/Grind) at our manufacturing facility in Taneytown, MD. The individual will perform a variety of tasks within our Burr Balance department including precision tool grinding, the use of overhead jib cranes, ergonomics, and inspection equipment. **Shift: 1st shift (Monday-Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm)**
**Responsibilities:**
+ Will read and document scales to verify parts are in conformance
+ Utilize hand tools to deburr, cut, and polish parts
+ Operate overhead and jib cranes to lift and move heavy parts
+ Will be required to work in other areas of department when needed
+ Will use hand tools, air tools, die grinders and hand drills
+ Responsible for accurate completion of certification reports
+ Adhere to all Safety Procedures & Policy. Complete all Pure Safety and other safety training as required
**Requirements:**
+ Ability to work in a team-oriented and CIP environment
+ Ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions
+ Basic shop math skills
