Thousands of employees, global operations, with no partners or investors sure didn't come easy. My entrepreneurial journey started In mid-2001, when I traveled from Los Angeles to Vadodara, India, rented an office, hired five employees and started a business—all within one week. Without any funding, VC or partners, I have been able to grow those operations to thousands of full-time employees. In 2012, I similarly traveled to Manila, Philippines and was offered to take over the facilities and employees by a subsidiary of VistaPrint. All of the sudden, we were a multi-national corporation and now employ over 3000+ full-time employees globally. Prior to starting Office Beacon, I founded Pacific Games, which licensed video game content to hundreds of online retailers from Amazon to eBay. After becoming the world's largest provider of video game content, Pacific Games was acquired by Muze, a John Kluge funded company, and was eventually rolled into what is now Rovi Corporation (Nasdaq: ROVI). Before I discovered my entrepreneurial streak (pre-2001), I held management positions at Fidelity Investments and also served on its Global System steering committee. During the late 90’s dot-com era, I held senior management positions with several internet start-ups primarily working with venture capitalists responsible for the launches of PC Mall and MacMall & several other entities. I am a Harvard Business School alumnus. I also have an Economics degree from the University of Toronto & earned an MBA, from the Schulich School of Business at York University, Toronto, Canada.

With a keen sense of strategy and technical knowledge of IT and software development, Anuj helps optimize internal operations and technology to ensure a efficiency and a seamless customer experience. As a leader in the IT space, Anuj’s skills are used throughout the organization - internally and externally - to keep all processes effective and ensuring a positive ROI on technological investments.

Peter Rogers

Peter Rogers has over 35 years of senior financial experience. He holds a Master's from Oxford and qualified as an accountant (FCA) while at KPMG. Peter has significant international finance experience gained while working at ICI and Zeneca. For 15 years, Peter was CFO of the world's leading manager of outpatient cancer centers, Aptium Oncology, based in Los Angeles. Since facilitating the sale of Aptium in 2012, Peter has worked with countless small business owners on behalf of Flowz, using his experience to improve revenue, profit, and cash flow, in many instances leading to the successful sale of the business.

Cons of working at Flowz

Where do I even start. If you can last long enough to endure the disorganisation and lack of clear direction, the micromanagement will kick in as the CEO thinks only she knows how to do everyone's job and it's her way or the highway. Low trust, high fear environment (don't ever challenge or disagree with CEO who is EVERYWHERE, or you'll have a target on your back), no work/life balance and management has very little autonomy to run their departments. If you enjoy being controlled, monitored and psychologically abused, this is the place for you. Happy burnout.

What do you like best about Flowz's CEO and the leadership team?

Nothing.

How would you improve Flowz's culture?

Remove the CEO from the day to day running of the business. Find her a lil hobby.

How did you prepare for the Flowz interview?

I did my research, of Flowz but also other BPO's and staffing agencies. I went through my portfolio again.

How does your compensation at Flowz compare to the industry average?

The compensation was fair but it was industry standard. The only upside is that it was tax free.

What's the diversity at Flowz like?

Diversity was probably one of the only upsides to the culture, unfortunately in this case the diversity business model is built on exploitation.

What brings you the most joy at Flowz?

At Flowz, interacting with my colleagues brought me a lot of joy. Watching them grow and create, doing silly team stuff and brainstorming together. Lovely group of people. Pity the CEO is toxic.
