Job Summary
The Research Associate Professor will conduct independent and collaborative research and perform research experiments. Research databases, analyze data using appropriate statistical and other programs, and prepare presentations, papers, progress reports, and grant and contract applications. Manage all aspects of research from planning and securing funding to publication and presentation at meetings. Oversee, direct, supervise, instruct, and mentor team members, students, residents, and fellows.
Essential Functions
Participate in the planning, development, and conduct of a variety of research projects.
Collaborate on appropriate departmental and facility projects as assigned by leadership.
Collaborate and interacts with investigators at other local, regional, national, and international institutions.
Foster and maintain collegial interactions with and supervision of residents, fellows, technical team members, physicians, faculty, students, research fellows, and visiting scientists.
Produce and analyze experimental data, writes progress reports, writes manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, and prepares abstracts for presentation of results at local, national, and international scientific meetings.
Develop, write, and submit grant proposals for intra- and extra-mural funding. Develops and maintain a vigorous, cutting-edge, externally-funded program in relevant research.
Physical Requirements
Works in a fast-paced research and administrative environment. This position requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, lift, speak, hear, and use telephone. Is responsible for working in a safe manner.
Education, Experience and Certifications
PhD or MD or both from an accredited institution required with 5-10 years of experience. Candidates must have experience in grant funding and a track record of peer-reviewed publications. Some evidence of external funding required; co-investigator role on external funding acceptable.

Job Responsibilities, included but not limited to:
Accurately and efficiently process Durable Medical Equipment (DME) sales orders for all resupply needs including oxygen, ventilator, tracheostomy and enteral nutrition
Verify insurance and update patient files - which include demographics, insurance, and benefit information
Manage patient prescriptions, requesting prior authorization, if necessary to fill the order
Responsible for communicating with patients and providers via telephone, email, and web portals
Develop working knowledge of Brightree, Document EMR Management, Microsoft Office, MS Teams, McKesson, Cardinal. Resupply web portals and other various applications or software pertaining to patient resupply fulfillment
Documentation and computer input of the new referral and subsequent patient admission from start to finish is critical and must always follow PromptCare's policies and procedures
Maintain and fulfill responsibilities for productivity metrics

The Department of Internal Medicine at Atrium Health and Wake Forest University School of Medicine Charlotte is seeking a board-certified physician to assume the role of Vice Chair of Education. The Vice Chair will work with and report directly to the Chair, Department of Internal Medicine to establish an overarching, long-term plan for the department that considers the unique context in which the department exists and strategic vision for medical education in Internal Medicine and at Atrium Health and Wake Forest University School of Medicine. This plan will foster innovation, integration and be responsive to opportunities in this complex academic organization.
The Department has 36 core faculty members and 56 residents. Wake Forest University School of Medicine will open its Charlotte campus in 2025. The new campus will increase national recognition and prominence of Atrium Health and Wake Forest University School of Medicine in key areas, including Aging and Mobility, Alzheimer's Disease, Cancer, Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes & Obesity, Pain & Addiction and Regenerative Medicine.
Position Highlights:
Supervision and alignment of UME and GME within the department
Oversee the development of all educational programs and their success
Assist GME and UME leaders in ensuring resources and access to teaching environments are maintained
Oversee development of faculty through mentoring, evaluation, and feedback for promotion and tenure
Prepare the core residency and any associated fellowship programs for ACGME site visits and the UME program for LCME accreditation visits
Chair the Clinical Competency Committee
Support education related committees and activities
Oversee GME and UME budget
Develop, monitor and report on educational outcome measures
Build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders to advance the departments goals
Work closely with Chair to set goals, scope and direction for the department
Participate in additional meetings, activities and duties as assigned

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Atrium Health/Wake Forest School of Medicine in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician.
We are a close knit, collaborative and busy group seeking a clinically oriented physician who will practice at one or more of our clinical sites and will participate in resident and medical student education. We are faculty of the Wake Forest School of Medicine and currently host clinical students and will have a full four-year medical school campus in Charlotte in 2025. We have a growing perinatal research program and are supported by an experienced research team including a PhD investigator. We are currently a division of 11 physicians, 4 full-time nurse practitioners, 5 genetic counselors and a large group of talented sonographers and support staff. We offer primarily consultative care but do full-scope prenatal care in our resident clinic. We staff a busy inpatient antepartum service and cover select labor and delivery day shifts on those weeks. Call is home-call. We value work life balance.
The Department offers OB/Gyn specialty and subspecialty services at several sites across Charlotte, primarily at Carolinas Medical Center, the academic medical center. We are the safety-net hospital for greater Charlotte and receive referrals from areas across North and South Carolina and surrounding states. CMC is an 874-bed hospital and perform 6,000+ deliveries a year. We have an 85-bed level 4 NICU with ECMO capacity and full scope of pediatric subspecialists.
New graduates and experienced MFM practitioners are encouraged to apply.
Must have an MD/DO degree
Completed an ACGME accredited obstetrics and gynecology residency program
Completed an ACGME accredited maternal-fetal medicine fellowship
Academic appointment is anticipated to be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Department of OB/Gyn at Wake Forest University.

Job Summary

Essential Functions
Coordinates the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
Ensures unit operations and team members are in compliance with the Nursing Practice Act, Respiratory Care Practice Act, regulatory agency standards, and policies and procedures as defined by CHS.
Organizes and coordinates all nursing unit functions to provide a smooth, cost-efficient operation.
Maintains responsibility for interview, selection, and supervision of cardiology team members in the department. Allocates resources to meet unit needs.
Conducts team member meetings at regular intervals to exchange information and promote dialogue.
Promotes team member development through education, performance evaluation, and identification of mutual goals that enhance continued professional growth.
Functions as a team member to accomplish goals and objectives of the unit and organization.
Performs patient care, assists with treatments, therapies, procedures, and administers medications as necessary.
Participates with performance improvement activities to improve quality of patient care, promote patient outcomes and provide a cost-effective environment for patient care.
Analyzes and utilizes data for improved clinical outcomes.

Physical Requirements
Requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 50 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Standing and walking while wearing 10 to 20 lbs lead radiation protection aprons. Potential exposure to radiation, secretions and blood. Confined work area.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelors Degree required. Completion of accredited program of Cardiovascular/Cardiopulmonary Technology, Nursing, Respiratory Care or related field preferred. If Nurse, a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of North Carolina required. If a Respiratory Therapist, licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board required. 5 years diagnostic cardiology experience preferred. Credentials in related field (RN, RRT, etc.) required. Previous management experience required. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from AHA required. ACLS preferred.

Performs and coordinates a variety of diagnostic procedures with the Cardiology service line.
Essential Functions
Coordinates and performs exercise and/or pharmacological stress testing following the standards and guidelines of the ACSM/AHA/ACC and the current policies and procedures of Diagnostic Cardiology.
Assess the patient for contraindications to cardiac stress testing by reviewing the latest H&P, lab results, and previous cardiac testing. Coordinates care with the ordering provider or Cardiologist.
Explains the procedure, verifies the order, and confirms patient identity
Assists with transferring patients on/off equipment and provides assistance with adaptive positioning to maximize safety and performance.
Recognizes electrocardiographic changes and arrythmias pre-test, during testing, and post-test to ensure diagnostic information is obtained in a safe and controlled environment.
Communicates abnormal results to the physician, clinical staff, operations manager or nurse manager.
Responds to emergency situations in a professional and prompt manner.
In coordination with related staff may also cross train.
Physical Requirements
Hearing (corrected) adequate for oral/aural communication with patients, staff, family, visitors, etc. Vision (corrected) adequate for reading. Intelligible speech and adequate language/cognitive skills to perform job duties. Must be able to push patients in a wheelchair or stretcher. Lifting of patients, equipment or supplies will be required up to 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally. Able to laterally transfer patients 100 pounds rarely. Sitting, standing, and walking required throughout the day. Job duties sometimes require climbing stairs, kneeling, twisting, bending; on occasion, crouching, crawling and reaching overhead. Must be able to transfer patients. Must be able to demonstrate any appropriate exercise and activities to patients/caregivers. Work is in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology required, Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology preferred. Exercise Physiologist certified by the American College of Sports Medicine or eligible to test for the same. ACSM-CEP (Clinical Exercise Physiologist) is preferred, required for stress testing. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from AHA is required. ACLS required within 6 months of hire date. Experience in stress testing preferred. One year of related experience preferred. Additional certifications may be required by the department. If performing stress tests, successful completion of the SHVI independent stress testing competencies including the use of pharmacological stress testing agents required.
Complies with the requirements for advancement, maintenance, approved certification, and education as outlined in Cardiology Exercise Physiologist Career Advancement Program.

Job Summary
Responsible for accurate oral interpretation and written translation with an emphasis on medically related communication between the limited English proficient (LEP) speaker and the healthcare team. Sensitive to cultural perception and use language appropriate to the educational and linguistic sophistication of both the client and the healthcare provider.
Essential Functions
Responds to requests for interpretation and translation services in the health care setting.
Interprets information regarding the patient's and family's medical needs. This may include consent for treatment, history and physical assessment, treatment recommendations, patient education, instructions for follow-up and future appointments.
Interprets as accurately and directly as possible given the idiomatic differences of languages, and maintains the spirit of the original communication, suspending judgment and making no comment.
The interpreter will make every effort to ensure the patient and the healthcare provider understands questions, answers, instructions, and other information transmitted by the speaker.
Assists health care providers in understanding the patient's culture, especially as it relates to health service interactions. This includes nonverbal communications, health practices, and social relationships.
Strive to develop a relationship of trust and respect at all times with the patient by adopting a caring, attentive, but discreet and impartial attitude toward the patient, and his/her questions, concerns, and needs.
Abide by the Atrium Health Code of Conduct for Interpreters. He/she will follow privacy standards at all times.
Translate basic written information as needed by clinical staff using accepted policy and procedures as requested. This may include discharge instructions.
Responsible to promote a safe environment and perform all work related responsibilities in a safe manner.
Responsible for all other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting and reaching. Must lift a minimum of 10 pounds to shoulder height. Must speak English and Spanish in simple, understandable terms and have an intact sense of sight and hearing. Must be able to be mobile within the entire healthcare provider system.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Knowledge of medical terminology and/or work experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. Demonstrated oral fluency and written skills in English and Spanish by successful completion of Language Assessment. Computer literacy, ability to use a word processor, and ability to learn computer software applications specific to the role of the interpreter. Good organizational and time management skills are essential. Must be able to cope with interruptions, varying personalities and cultural diversity, changing priorities, irregular hours and demanding clients.

Job Summary
Provides clerical and clinical assistance to professional and secretarial staff to ensure timely, efficient, professional and courteous patient care. Works closely with other disciplines and specialties within the department and facility as well as patients and families to assure a cohesive approach to patient care.
Essential Functions
Assists professional staff with Physical, Occupational, Speech, or Recreational Therapy treatments and/or completion of paperwork.
Supervises patient exercise program in Physical and Occupational Therapy under the direct guidance of a therapist or an assistant.
Prepares modalities for the Physical and Occupational Therapy licensed staff.
Transports patients and equipment
Monitors equipment for cleanliness and operation per regulatory guidelines.
Reinforces patient and family education as instructed by the licensed therapy staff.
Copies, stocks, and inventories therapy forms and supplies.
Assists with orienting new and rotating staff.
Provides cross-coverage as needed throughout Atrium Health facilities.
Physical Requirements
Hearing (corrected) adequate for oral/aural communication. Vision (corrected) adequate for reading. Intelligible speech and adequate language/cognitive skills to perform job duties. Sitting, standing, and walking required throughout the day. Job duties sometimes require climbing stairs, kneeling, twisting, bending; on occasion, crouching, crawling and reaching overhead. Lifting of patients, equipment or supplies will be required up to 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally. Able to laterally transfer patients 100 pounds rarely. Must be able to demonstrate any appropriate exercise and activities to patients/caregivers. Personal Protective Equipment such as gloves, goggles, gowns, and masks are sometimes required due to possible exposure to hazardous chemicals or blood and body fluids. Work is in a fast-paced clinical environment. The work environment is primarily indoors but occasionally outdoors.
Education, Experience and Certifications
High school diploma or GED required. Some college classes preferred.
