ROLE SUMMARY The Cultivation Tech I position supports the day-to-day cultivation operations in the stocking and upkeep of a medical cannabis production facility. Cultivation department activities may span the entire production cycle of the plant, from propagation through harvest. The ideal candidate will excel as a team member within a medical grade horticultural environment, where attention to detail is extremely important, and the work is fast paced, physically demanding, and highly regulated. Duties are completed individually and in small teams, under the supervision of area leads and Cultivation Supervisors. The position is structured around two levels, with a required training program and expected functions: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Cultivation Technician I - Level 1 All candidates must be able to work in an environment with a safety culture. Extended periods of standing, bending, reaching, and high dexterity functions are required. Physical demands include bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, walking, standing and using stairs to enter/exit the work area. The employee must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and be able to maneuver between growing spaces that are 24 inches apart. The employee must also be able to repeatedly carry 15-20 pounds the length of warehouse/cultivation facility. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. In this role you will maintain the high voltage electrical distribution system (with system voltages at 480-34.5KV) to ensure uninterrupted power supply to all facilities and buildings across Eastman Business Park, and install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain components associated with the system. Essential Duties: ► Maintain Clear and Consistent Communication relating to the current status, performance and needs of your assigned location with RED-Rochester team supervisor, maintenance planner and operations staff. Accountable for all work assignments and schedules. Support other operations as it applies to facilities maintenance. Propose new ideas and initiatives to the facilities leadership team as it relates to facilities responsibilities and objectives. Keeps safety as #1 priority. Ensures that all equipment and work areas are kept clean, neat, and orderly at all times. Ensures compliance with internal maintenance, safety and security procedures by following established State and local codes and loss prevention guidelines, as well as company policies and procedures. Operates simple machine and hand tools, such as screw drivers, wrenches, pliers, battery drills, power saws, grinders, etc. Recognizes equipment that needs repair, replacing, or adjusting and reports it to the facilities leadership team. Keeps tools, machines, and all other company equipment in clean and proper working order. Follows established maintenance program including, predictive maintenance, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs as required to acceptable standards. Attends department training, supplemental courses and seminars to stay abreast of updated technical information and products. Must be able to react under pressure or in an emergency in a calm and rational manner. Ability to read and evaluate reports and correspondence. Must be proficient in basic math skills.
