The Assistant to the President, Family Advancement position exists to develop relationships with individual constituents, foundations, and corporations for the purpose of having them financially support the ministry; to communicate the vision, mission and initiatives of Focus on the Family, thank donors for their gifts, inform them of our on-going projects and how donors can be financially involved, enhance our friendship through authentic encouragement, serving as a resource for their ministry needs, and discovers and pursues opportunities for giving with potential donors.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Manages an assigned geographic territory and is required to travel to that territory a minimum of 88 days per year
Develops new "Friends" of the ministry through a variety of networking events and avenues
Speaks on behalf of the ministry at various events, to deepen donor connection and commitment to Focus on the Family
Develops and maintains positive relationships with supporters and shows sensitivity and genuine concern without becoming self-serving
Develops relationship and giving programs that align donor passions with ministry initiatives.
Facilitates donor events
Meets and/or exceeds departmental “dashboard” measures on an annual basis
Relates and communicates with people of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, and socio-economic levels
Pursues utmost detail in the area of constituent relationship and maintenance
Stays current with social policy issues and maintains currency in terms of personal and professional development, through research and reading
Provides constituents with status and financial reports

Recruits for, and participates in "insider" events hosted by Family Advancement and other Focus departments

The Project Manager 2 - Circulation Marketing position exists to lead the organization, management, and monitoring of circulation marketing strategies for all Focus on the Family periodicals. This role is instrumental in implementing effective list management tactics and coordinating stand-alone or integrated circulation marketing campaigns. Working closely with team leaders, media planners, and internal stakeholders, the project manager will ensure a comprehensive understanding of project deliverables. This position will oversee marketing programs involving diverse media formats, such as print, internet, email, and social media. The successful candidate will thrive working independently with minimal guidance, seeking supervisor involvement only for specific, uncommon challenges.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Leads the development, implementation, and project management of circulation marketing strategies for ministry periodicals. Seeks to achieve or exceed goals related to renewal rates, overall circulation, and donation income
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of Focus on the Family and circulation marketing processes and procedures essential to the management of marketing projects and to the functionality and effectiveness of the creative product, including email, direct mail, social media, online and eCommerce channels
Gives input into the creation of marketing strategy including, but not limited to scope, audience development, tactical execution, and final project measures
Creates marketing project plans and provides oversight on schedule, budget, scope, resources, milestones, risks, relationships, issues, and status
Maintains up-to-date status reports of all projects, ensuring on-time delivery at each stage of the project process
Directs circulation and marketing project objectives and specifications. Manages and reviews creative content at various stages of production to ensure that intended content is included and requested revisions are accurately executed
Negotiates project schedules and deadlines with internal and external departments and expedites marketing projects as needed, attaining required approvals, following through on client and/or creative requests
Monitors and controls resource availability, constraints, and assignments
Highlights issues or obstacles that stand in the way of attaining strategy or impacting an on-schedule or on-budget completion of assigned activity
Is responsible for ensuring on-time delivery at each stage of the project
Continually seeks out new, cost-effective avenues outside of FOF to promote the magazines through multi-channels
Enters and executes projects in Aprimo software (drives projects through the various stages of creative production, and ensures projects are closed with proper documentation)
Ensures accurate lists are generated each month in Aprimo to fulfill constituent magazine subscriptions and renewals. Thorough understanding of the list select system with the ability to identify problems and trouble-shoot with the appropriate parties to resolve quickly
Coordinates mailing list processing, segmentation management and data delivery to Mailing Services and/or external vendors
Maintains and documents ongoing technical problems with technology platform; assists in troubleshooting and testing
Builds strong relationships with partnering departments, encouraging an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork on behalf of Focus on the Family
Initiates and maintains regular and effective communication with all departments and individuals who have a part, including clear direction on deadlines, their role in the project, and developments that could impact project deliveries or quality
Proactively communicates with editorial staff to keep them apprised of current circulation, promotional efforts, renewal rates etc. Works with various internal departments to ensure clear communication regarding circulation strategy
Provides regular oral and written circulation reports to management identifying areas of success and plans to improve underperforming areas
Runs reports, creates Excel spreadsheets, reviews result of circulation marketing efforts against goals, and provides recommendations for adjustments as needed
Analyzes post-production response data and generate meaningful debrief reports for assigned projects suitable for presentation to senior leadership (May present findings as assigned)
Builds project workflows to facilitate appropriate marketing project management (as assigned)
Is available to assist in process design, mapping, and engineering of any circulation marketing process.
Is familiar with split and multivariate testing concepts and strategies including versioning of inbound and outbound marketing pieces.
Flexibility to embrace new technologies and trends in the circulation and marketing landscape. Comfortable using various marketing platforms, CRM systems and analytics tools associated with different channels

Creates and supports SmartSheets for the many different long and short-form broadcasts and podcasts - Inputting source codes, activity numbers, offer links, etc.

The Sr. Designer position exists for the purpose of assisting with all levels of magazine design - creating magazine spreads, scanning photos and artwork, editing magazine galleys, detailed Photoshop work, and preparing print-ready files with direction and guidance from an art director while showing self-reliance and meeting the project deadlines.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Works closely with publication art directors to ensure quality and design integrity standards are met consistent with magazine demographic needs and Focus on the Family principles and standards
Takes responsibility for quality, completeness, and on-time delivery
Makes efficient and effective use of computer systems, magazine production software, and digital asset management system
Works with editors, art directors, and stock photo houses
Maintains pre-press and proofing workflow
Works closely with Director of Content Operations to ensure quality and timely delivery of printed pieces
Consults with computer network technician and commercial printer on desktop hardware and software issues and problems
Is responsible for packaging magazine files for international delivery and production
Collaborates with writers and editors throughout the creative process
Participates in editorial planning sessions and art concept development meetings
Creates collateral magazine-branded designs for social media, web, and marketing purposes

Represents Focus on the Family to donors, foundations, and planned givers. Maintains strong relationships with a portfolio of 800 donors with significant emphasis on personal communication (phone calls, correspondence, email, etc.)
Is responsible for increasing retention and average gift size of portfolio through strategic cultivation and stewardship
Cultivates relationships with mid-range donors, learning about their personal interests and connecting them with Focus on the Family's core mission for further engagement; is responsible for identifying and qualifying Major Donor Prospects and transitioning them to a Family Advancement Representative for additional development
As a portfolio goal, retains and lifts donor giving through (but not limited to) personal solicitation, acknowledgment, stewardship, relationship building, ongoing communication, etc.
Maintains an accurate record of donor communication and service in customer relationship management tool
Maintains an in depth understanding of the ministry's core competencies and programs
Participates in departmental meetings, strategic planning, and fundraising discussions within the Family Advancement department

The Reports Analyst III Temp position exists to maximize cost efficiency in Relationship Services by analyzing and balancing complex factors related to scheduling and all facets of reporting. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Generates and distributes weekly schedules using sophisticated scheduling software for Relationship Services staff
Balances various complex factors affecting the scheduling of personnel
Ensures the quick and professional handling of issues related to scheduling
Creates informational and sensitive decision-making reports, and analysis of scheduling issues to leadership
Evaluates and provides recommendations regarding staffing level needs
Approves requests for time off
Monitors Family Help Specialists' adherence to daily schedule
Evaluates potential upgrades in software capabilities
Collaborates with IT Reporting for requests of new reports
Maintains records of schedules, call/mail patterns, call/mail statistics, and related information
Monitors certain clerical staff to ensure routine activities related to scheduling are performed timely and accurately
Other Duties/Responsibilities:

Personal Characteristics:
Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related field
2 - 4 years of prior work experience involving use of analytical and computer skills
Working knowledge of Salesforce Reports
Experience with Genesys Reporting Features

Exceptional analytical ability and logical thought process to deal with complex problems
