PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
The Bar Manager is responsible for the effective management and direction of the hotel's bar operations, ensuring exceptional beverage quality, service, and overall guest satisfaction. This role includes overseeing cocktail and wine programs, staff training, purchasing, inventory control, and cost management while maintaining compliance with brand standards and legal regulations. The Bar Manager will also work closely with the Banquets, purchasing & Culinary teams to develop a curated beverage selection across the board and ensure the success of the hotel's bar and cocktail program.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:
Bar & Cocktail Program Oversight
Develop and maintain an innovative cocktail program, ensuring high-quality, creative, and well-executed beverages.
Oversee the selection, purchasing, and maintenance of spirits, wines, beers, and mixers, ensuring a diverse and cost-effective inventory.
Work with the purchasing team to establish vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and monitor product quality.
Train bar staff on cocktail preparation, wine knowledge, and proper beverage service techniques.
Maintain consistency in cocktail execution through training, recipe standardization, and quality control.
Monitor beverage trends and implement menu enhancements to align with guest preferences and industry best practices.
Oversee proper storage, stock rotation, and waste reduction strategies to maximize efficiency and cost control.
Operational & Team Management
Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the Food & Beverage division, with a focus on bar operations.
Supervise bar staff, ensuring adherence to service standards and fostering a positive team environment.
Implement staff development programs, including cross-training and skill-building initiatives for bar and cocktail service.
Set clear goals and expectations for bartenders and service team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper alcohol service protocols and sanitation standards.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop cocktail pairings and special beverage promotions.
Monitor guest feedback and online reviews, addressing service concerns and continuously improving the guest experience.
Financial & Inventory Management
Maintain the bar's operating budget, controlling costs while maximizing revenue opportunities.
Track and analyze beverage sales, implementing strategies to drive revenue and optimize pricing.
Develop and enforce inventory management practices, including ordering, stock rotation, and waste reduction.
Conduct regular audits of beverage inventory and ensure proper stock levels based on business demands.
Support forecasting and scheduling efforts to align labor and product needs with business volume.
Guest Experience & Service Standards
Ensure exceptional guest service, maintaining high standards of hospitality, engagement, and beverage presentation.
Train staff in Langham service standards, reinforcing exceptional customer service behaviors.
Handle guest concerns with professionalism, resolving issues in a timely and effective manner.
Stay updated on beverage industry trends and incorporate new techniques, flavors, and products into the cocktail menu.
Organize special events, tastings, and promotional activities to enhance the guest experience and boost bar revenue.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical activities include walking, talking, seeing, hearing, standing, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, stretching, fingering, feeling, grasping, holding, touching, lifting, crouching. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time in fast paced environment. Considerable noise and interruptions throughout work day.
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Frequent bending, reaching, stretching, and other physical movements associated with bar operations.
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Strong knowledge of cocktail creation, wine selection, and beverage pairings.
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills to manage inventory, revenue, and cost control.
Ability to train and mentor staff in bar operations and cocktail craftsmanship.
Effective leadership and communication skills, fostering a positive team environment.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities to ensure smooth bar operations.
Ability to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Must be proactive, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
2-5 years' experience as a Bar Manager, Beverage Manager, or F&B operations manager with a strong focus on bar service.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:
Food Handler's Certification
TIPS or Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification Required
CPR Certification and/or First Aid Training preferred
SALARY RANGE:
$82,000 - $85,000

Document attendance issues following attendance policy

Verify that the park is clean. Delegate cleaning duties to team members
Timekeeping - Approve times. Ensure that management staff at your facility are approving clock-in/out punches each shift. This must be done each shift.
Complete daily schedule template the previous day to ensure all positions are covered
Assess team and move crew around as needed
Assess team for training and re-training needs
Field guest complaints
Incident Reports
Assist Operations Managers in completion of guest and team member incident reports as needed
Help Manager ensure reports are completed and turned in within 24 hours
Ensure team members who are injured are retrained if that was the cause
If team member needs medical attention call Safety Manager immediately
Work alongside crew as needed. Fill in for brakes as needed
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
Schedule crew members for your designated location
Ongoing responsibilities are:
Support GMs goal of ensuring team meets or exceeds turn over times
Assist with ride audits if needed. Retrain/coach as needed
Update standup meeting info. Communicate to other operations managers if something is added or changed

Supervisory Responsibility
This position assists Operations Managers and General Manager in managing all employees of the department and is responsible for leadership, performance management and retention of crew members within its department.

Here is what you will be doing each day:
Supervise banquet staff in the completion of the assigned functions and set-up, as well as oversee the service and break-down functions in a safe manner.
Check server and houseperson banquet event orders to ensure that all information is accurate.

Position Overview: Responsible to help lead, support and direct all restaurant operations. Maintain an efficient, profitable and professional restaurant by providing high levels of guest and associate satisfaction. Essential Functions:
• Work hands-on in the dining room and bar, supporting, coaching and working with associates:

Management Responsibilities: Help keep dining room training materials current, accurate and stocked. Staff development may process through the use of manuals, our on-line training system, training guides, tests and tools. Follow prescribed process and checklists. Supervise, conduct and coordinate all dining room training programs supported by a strong “train the trainer” program. Learn on the spot coaching sessions to help employees improve performance. Ensure staff conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. Monitor appearance of employees to guarantee they meet the department/property uniform and appearance guidelines. Participate with safety committee procedures. When requested, prepare for, attend and actively participate in weekly F & B management meetings. Participate in management development and goal setting meetings with AGM. Present written goals for yourself. Follow up on assigned projects, discuss goals and professional progress regularly. Each shift, conduct informational, educational and inspiring pre-shift meetings with FOH staff. Communicate shift/daily operations information and feedback to AGM and management team through the use of a management daily log. Follow state and federal labor and employment laws. Do not hire anyone under the age of sixteen to work on our property. (see Regional Manager for any state specific exemption) Know and maintain proper Health Department standards and codes. Keep a current Serve Safe certification. Assist to maintain a proactive Worker's Compensation program. This will help to insure the safety and well-being of our employees. In the event an employee is injured, verify a First Report of Injury form is completed within 24 hours of the incident. Notify the AGM, complete and submit all Worker's Compensation forms. Do a proper shift checkout process and reconcile sales to receipts. Reconcile the assigned tills at the end of each shift, and rebuild to par levels. Bundle and record sales to be held in safe for office person to process the next morning. Validate this process is being followed by all who close the restaurant nightly.
Equipment, Supplies and Building: Verify bar supplies/product is being received per order and par sheets. Confirm bar and dining room supplies/product are stored, dated, labeled and rotated properly. Ensure Liquor Room and beer coolers are locked and secured. Verify the bar is properly stocked, product checked for freshness and day dot system in place and checked during each shift. Verify and maintain all equipment is in good clean working condition through daily checklists. Verify and maintain the building is in good repair and working condition through daily checklists. Properly clean all floors, carpet areas, walls, baseboards, booths, tables, blinds, lighting fixtures, artifacts, etc. by following daily, weekly and monthly checklists. Confirm restrooms are properly maintained and checked during each shift using scheduled hourly restroom checks. Ensure the proper opening and closing of the restaurant through daily checklists.
Guest Hospitality & Service: Assure steps of service are being followed by hosts, bartenders and servers. Maintain a high level of service by constant training and coaching of direct reporting staff. Ensure proper bar recipes are being followed. Help confirm proper staffing levels on each shift per Restaurant Manager and AGM. Learn POS troubleshooting. Help verify staffs' POS skill competency by actively training on all aspects of the system. Maintain proper tabletop, menu appearance and presentation standards. Respond to guest's comments or unsatisfactory reports encountered on each shift. Seek guest satisfaction solutions. Report these incidents to AGM.
Qualification Standards: The individual must possess the job knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job. This being with or without reasonable accommodation, using a combination of knowledge, skills and abilities.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience: 2-4 years of full-service restaurant experience as host, bartender or server. Prior full-service restaurant supervisory or management experience preferred.
