East Culinary Platform Attendant
Will organize, prepare, and supply various food items pertaining to the salad bars, cold and hot food stations, and to-order serve in one of the Residential Dining Halls; assists cooks by combining ingredients, portioning, and serving from prepared to-order, maintains proper food handling and storage techniques to eliminate waste and spoilage; will work within a diverse work force; directly with the customers. Position Location: Holmes and Akers Halls
All positions in RHS are designated as critical status. In the event of a university closure, modification, or suspension of operations due to snow or emergency condition, persons in this position are expected to make all reasonable attempts to report to work as scheduled for the duration of the closure/suspension. If a person has an approved remote work agreement to work a portion of their normally scheduled work hours remotely, they upon to work on-site to serve the MSU community.
Minimum Requirements
Graduation from high school or equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
One year of full-time experience in food preparation and use of kitchen equipment.
Knowledge of kitchen safety practices.
Ability to read weights and measures and the ability to weigh and measure ingredients.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and fractions.
Knowledge of various methods of food preparation including sautéing, display cooking, deep frying, grilling and steaming, etc.
Ability to properly use knives and standard kitchen equipment.
Ability and skill to prepare items utilizing proper methods and production timing to assure freshly cooked products are ready for continuous service.
Occasional lifting of 26 to 75 pounds.
Desired Qualifications
One year of satisfactory experience as a worker in a food related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience oriented and ability to anticipate needed changes in service and customer demands; skilled in taking initiative and being highly flexible.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
Provides members with prompt and courteous service and assistance. Maintains high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members.
Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all areas of the club including the sales floor, offices, restrooms and the outdoor grounds and parking lot.
Gathers and returns carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance. Removes any trash or debris from the parking lot, cart corrals, and exterior of the club.
Ensures that carts are well-stocked at the club entrance.
Verifies that all carts are in working order and clean. Removes carts that are not suitable for use.
Returns new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
Performs maintenance and cleaning duties including wet and dry mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles and pulling pallets.
Maintains outdoor grounds of club property including cart corrals, sidewalks and outdoor trash receptacles.
Prioritizes maintenance and cleaning responsibilities across the club in an efficient manner.
Operates the floor scrubber, trash compactor and cardboard baler machines in a safe and efficient manner following established safety standards.
Restocks maintenance / cleaning supplies and ensures supply areas on the receiving dock and maintenance closets are clean, neat and organized.

Qualifications
Must successfully complete required training and certification processes.
Prior maintenance or janitorial experience preferred, but not required.
Prior retail/wholesale experience preferred.
May be less than 18 years of age to perform parking lot cart functions. Must be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age restricted areas.
Environmental Job Conditions

Obtain guest list on a nightly basis to ensure only authorized guests are allowed to access rooms and the property
Obtain a vacant room report on a nightly basis to ensure all vacant rooms are secured
Establish good communication and professional relationships with property guests
Complete three thorough inspection rounds of the property Monday through Saturday performed approximately at 7:00 PM, 9:00 PM, and after midnight
Complete six thorough inspection rounds of the property on Sunday that should be evenly spaced in between and performed between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM and one round after midnight.
Document all inspection rounds and any incidents on the Property Attendant Checklist and note any issues on the Daily Action Plan for General Manager's investigation.
Follow company procedure by verifying IDs to provide access to rooms for guests who become locked out.
Take responsibility for insuring that property is clean, free of any trash/debris, and ensure that all storage and employee areas are secured on a nightly basis
Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor and follow on call schedule
Skills/Experience
Ability to read, understand, interpret information found in a variety of internal hotel information.
Ability to read, speak, write in an efficient manner in order to interact with guests and staff.
Ability to self-supervise and work with limited supervision.
