All items produced are frozen and under strict supervision of FDA, ODA, two (2) on-site federal USDA inspectors, and company quality inspectors. The Massillon, Ohio factory currently employs approximately 370 salaried, non-union hourly and union hourly employees. The Union hourly workers are represented by Local 17A of the United Food & Commercial Workers Union. The factory currently operates production lines on day and afternoon shifts. The midnight shift is dedicated to sanitation, maintenance and warehouse; disassembling, cleaning, completely sanitizing all production lines and equipment, and reassembling them in preparation for the next day's production operation. All products are micro-tested in the on-site Quality Assurance Laboratory. The products manufactured at the Massillon factory are distributed throughout the United States and Canada through retail and warehouse club outlets.     Meals on Wheels (MOW) provides nutritious meals delivered to the homes and congregate sites of seniors in the Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and Greater Dayton community. The MOW program supports independence while promoting the social, physical, and emotional well-being of seniors. The Meals on Wheels Food Service Associate is a full-time, Monday - Friday days only (6 am - 2 pm) position in which the Food Service Associate will work in our kitchen area to prepare the food for our senior clients. Medical, dental and vision benefits available day one. Ten paid holidays per year and paid time off accrual starts day one. Starting rate is $16 per hour. Qualifications PRIMARY FUNCTION: Prepare and package food in trays and snack boxes for client delivery. TYPICAL WORK CONDITIONS: Work is performed in the kitchen and dry-pack areas of our facility. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Must possess general knowledge of both kitchen sanitation and food safety handling. Responsible for cleanliness of work area, including trash removal and floor/surface cleaning. Responsible for following kitchen prep sheets. Must understand portion sizes and be able to distribute the correct portions in food trays. Must be a good listener with the ability to follow directions as instructed from management. Will be responsible for other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 18 years of age or older Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language Must possess basic mathematical skills. PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Physically push and pull carts loaded with meals and other products weighing up to 200 pounds. Have the ability to work in inclement conditions (food freezers). Have the ability to hear and follow instructions. Have the ability to be aware of surrounding environment. Must be in general good health and demonstrate emotional stability. Have the ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. Have the ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds. Sit, bend, lift, move and stand for extended periods of time during working hours. Ability to ascend and descend stairs. Must pass a pre-employment physical, alcohol/drug screen and background check.
