This position operates a computer-controlled mixing system producing dough products. Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned · Communicate with Supervisors and facility leadership regarding safety, production, quality, or any other operational issue · Follow & perform Bill of Materials, Batch Sheets, & Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) · Understands and efficiently performs all phases of mixing operation, including: offloading talc railcars; adding resin to Meyer, Anco, Kelly Mixers from silos; proper setting of resin meters and proper valve operation; weighs raw materials accurately; adding all ingredients and chemicals, including liquids and powders, both automated and by hand; and accurately operates Meyer, Anco, Kelly and M2M mixers · Package batches in accordance with all safety, quality, and efficiency standards by following SOPs, batch sheets, and verbal directions · Safely and efficiently operate various styles of mixing equipment, packaging equipment, bulk material transfer equipment, scales, flowmeters and other equipment related to the mixing and packaging of chemicals · Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required · Understands quality expectations relating to the packaging of our products, including fill weights, appearance of packages, and proper labeling · Understands the Quality Control functions pertaining to mixed product, including viscosity and weight testing · Perform required calibrations or routine maintenance to equipment in accordance with company procedures including changing resin filters and emptying dust collectors · Ensure accurate documentation & inventory accuracy in accordance with established doctrine · Use all equipment safely and ensure safe operation of equipment by co-workers · Maintain clean work areas in accordance with 5S protocol · Assist in modifying or establishing procedures as needed · Assist in prevention of quality problems and establishment of solutions for existing issues Education and Qualifications: · High School diploma or equivalent education required · 3 years' work experience in a chemical environment preferred · Forklift operation experience preferred · Basic understanding of computers · Oral and written communication skills and basic math · Willingness to work in a team environment · Ability to adapt to changing demands and to react positively to verbal instructions given by a supervisor or another manager · Ability to climb stairs, stand or sit for extended periods of time, and safely lift up to 55 lbs. repetitively · Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time Compensation Information: $23.80 - $32.20 ITW is an equal opportunity employer. You work 4 days one week, 3 days one week. We get paid every two weeks so a standard pay check would be 76 hours straight time and 8 hours over-time. Day shift is 6:00am to 6:30pm Night shift is 6:00pm to 6:30am 2 week schedule example (Week 1 Work: Monday, Tuesday, Friday Saturday Week 2 Work: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday) * Adheres to safe work practices, policies, and procedures. Follows Good Manufacturing Practices, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product quality is maintained. Reports any conditions or practices that may adversely affect employee safety or food safety/quality to management immediately. * Operates equipment to maintain regulatory standards and compliance at all times. * Mix batches of product in accordance with batching and kitting instructions. * Responsible for accurately weighting of all ingredients to ensure consistent batching of products. * Responsible for cleaning and production set up of the mixing room including assembly and disassembly of all piping and pumps in the mixing room. * Responsible for selecting the correct production formulation in the formula editor to match production schedule. * Ensure accuracy and quality of the individual batches to be mixed and transferred to the proper holding tank. * Maintains active communication with other departments to ensure an efficient operation. * Record appropriate information on batch sheets to meet Quality Assurance and regulatory compliance. * Utilize scales and meters as needed to get as precise and accurate readings as possible. * Have general knowledge of the Clean in Place (CIP) system. * Proper equipment cleaning through use of Clean Out of Place (C.O.P.) tank. * Operate motorized material handling equipment. * Manage inventory consumptions or creation in inventory management system. * Alerts the Supervisor when major mechanical problems and process deviations occur and reports any system abnormalities to reduce the risk of, and damage to, the system or product. * Team player who aligns and upholds our values: Teamwork, Accountability, Innovation and Continuous Improvement and passion for customer and consumers. * Attends and actively participates in safety meetings and trainings. * Train new hires as required. * Maintains regular and consistent attendance. * Fosters open communications and a good attitude toward work and fellow employees * Perform other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE: * 2 + years of experience operating mixing machinery, and handling GMP's and product specifications * SPC (weight control) PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: * 2 years' of experience operating blending equipment in a food manufacturing environment. * Ability to read, write, and comprehend shift change instructions, short correspondence, emails, and memos. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees. * Ability to calculate general mathematics using units of weight measurement and volume. * Ability to solve problems involving several variables in standardized situations. * General knowledge of chemicals * Basic level computer skills, necessary to operate equipment controls. * Ability to plan activities and work independently. * Maintain a positive and engaging attitude towards colleagues at work. * Mechanical aptitude. * General knowledge of equipment and troubleshooting to correct processing deficiencies; ability to recognize and react in short time.
