Position Summary
Food Service Worker works under the direction of the messhall managers. Performs a wide variety of simple serving and cleaning tasks under general supervision. Performance is evaluated on compliance with instructions, accepted serving practices, customer service skills, and sanitary requirements.
• Performs a wide variety of manual tasks in kitchen or dining area according to established procedures.
• Serves food on serving lines in accordance with required serving portions.
• Replaces glassware, dishes and silverware and refills condiment containers.
• Wipes and washes tables and countertops.
• Cleans work area, removes garbage, mops floors, washes walls, windows and tables. Maintains cleanliness in restrooms and the exterior of building.
• Mixes washing solutions and operates electric dish washing machine; loading and unloading, and/or washes dishes, glassware, pots and pans and kitchen utensils by hand. Maintains cleanliness of dishwasher and dish washing area.
• Makes coffee in urns, replaces soda and milk supplies.
• Ensures proper sanitization and cleaning processes and procedures are followed.
• Always complies with all safety procedures.

Qualifications
Successful completion of high school, vocational school or equivalent.
6+ months of job-related experience in a restaurant, cafeteria, or comparable food service establishment preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time and be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry a minimum of 30lbs., as needed. Must be able to reach, stoop, bend, twist, and extend, for entire shift.
Work Environment
Employee is often exposed to wet/or humid conditions and extreme heat usually in excess of 90 degrees. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Repetitive motion will be needed during each shift.
