TITLE: Food Service Substitute
SALARY: $10.00/hour
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 9 months/year
*This is an on-call position, so hours will vary. This position gives you the opportunity to have a flexible schedule.
REPORTS TO: Food Service Site Manager
JOB GOAL: To prepare and serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and cooperation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist in the preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner.
2. Must be able to read and interpret instructions on recipes.
3. Assume responsibility for seeing to it that during meal service periods the supply of foods offered is replenished regularly.
4. Assist in the daily clean-up of the kitchen and service areas.
5. Perform major cleaning of refrigerators and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by the site manager.
6. Assume responsibility for storage, labeling, and disposal of unused foods after recording.

REPORTS TO: Food Service Site Manager
JOB GOAL: To prepare and serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and cooperation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist in the preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner.
2. Must be able to read and interpret instructions on recipes.
3. Assume responsibility for seeing to it that during meal service periods the supply of foods offered is replenished regularly.
4. Assist in the daily clean-up of the kitchen and service areas.

Education:
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Experience:
One to three months experience or training in the food service industry, including foodpreparation and storage.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
Experience providing daily food to children in a residential treatment facility or school preferred, as well as foodpreparation, handling, and storage. Must be comfortable using Window based software and email.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Operations Department, and in conjunction with a Dietician, the Food Service Worker will:
Prepare the recommended meals for the children and adolescents in Camber's care

Maintain current knowledge of and practice safe food handling, preparation, and storage
Ensure correct refrigeration temperatures
Clean utensils, cooking, and storage equipment
Clean and sanitize serving areas each day
Set up and break down tables as needed depending on client census or special events
Model professional and courteous behavior to the children and adolescents being served
