The Food Preparer 'E' assists Butchers in preparing and apportioning butchered meats, poultry and fish, maintains storage of food supplies, performs cleaning tasks.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Under direction of Butchers: Cuts, slices, grinds and apportions meats, poultry, fish and cheeses to be served to patients and employees. Uses such equipment as band saw, slicer grinder and various utensils.
Stores food supplies, racks and hangs meats in refrigerator, rotates stock in refrigerators and ice boxes. Places bacon, ham, and sausage in pans. Obtains food from refrigerators as required.
Cleans refrigerators, works areas, equipment and utensils. Follows safety and sanitary regulations.
May perform work of Cook's Helper as assigned.

High School Diploma or GED

* The completion of Basic Life Support Heartsaver (HS) level within three (3) months of hire

The individual in this position reports to the Nutrition Services Director. This position works closely with other Nutrition Services staff to provide friendly, courteous food service to visitors and employees.

The individual in this position will be required to fully understand the Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategy of Samaritan Healthcare, personifying service, and operational excellence. An intuitive understanding of Samaritan's Team Accountability and Respect System (STARS) is expected, including the creation and maintenance of the best patient, employee, physician, and student experience. The individual in this position will be required to fully understand the purpose and operation of Nutrition Services along with having the ability to make decisions based on sound judgment when a situation dictates.

This is a 40 hour per week position working varied AM shift times, one evening shift. Rotating weekends.
