Prepares for Forge and Extrusion line hourly checks. Verifies that calibrations are current on all gaging used to perform checks. Prepares Inspection through plex (not everyone uses Plex). Identify and report non-conformances to the appropriate personnel Performs in-process inspection and ensuring that proper checks are being performed in timely fashion Performs tests on Magnetic Particle Unit Reports any Quality or functional problem to the shift supervisor immediately. Shall be able to read measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gauges, etc… Uses any or all of the equipment listed to perform the inspection functions. In performing dimensional checks watches for obvious visual defects such as cracks, pinches, rings, part number error, or heat code error. Places a nonconforming tag and moves discrepant parts to the designated hold area for disposition. May be required to prepare parts for lab samples. Obtains and prepares material for initial sample requirements, and packages material properly for shipment (PPAP's). Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment. Follows all safety and plant rules and regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
