Baristas offer high-quality coffee products and customer service to students, staff, faculty, and the general public, but they also learn valuable skills and gain hands-on experience while working on campus. Baristas serve as members of the Student Union staff and can be cross-trained on Information Desk duties. Prior work experience as a barista, in customer service, and in sales and cash handling is preferred but not required of candidates for this position. Other skills and experience that would be helpful are knowledge of office equipment, personal computers, copiers, and scanners.
