Food Runner Summary of Responsibilities A food runner is responsible for promptly delivering food from the kitchen to guests, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are met. They assist servers by refilling drinks, clearing plates, and responding to guest needs while keeping service areas clean and organized. Strong communication between the kitchen and front-of-house is essential, along with maintaining a polite, professional demeanor and following all safety and sanitation guidelines. Primary Responsibilities: Deliver food orders promptly and accurately from the kitchen to guests Verify plate presentation and order accuracy before leaving the kitchen Assist servers with refills, clearing plates, and guest requests Communicate effectively between kitchen staff and front-of-house team Keep service stations, trays, and expo areas clean and organized Follow all safety, sanitation, and food handling standards Job Qualifications: Able to lift and carry cases and bus tubs of up to 70 lbs. Up to 20 times per shift. Work indoors 98%; outdoors 2% Walk or stand most of 6-8 hour shift. Must be able to read menu items and speak English.
