Position Summary
The local move helper will assist in moving customers' goods.
Responsibilities
• Works with assigned driver/lead person to ensure that all delivery equipment, supplies and handling equipment are loaded on the truck. Any missing or inconsistent items must be reported immediately to the driver/lead person.
• Assists driver in paperwork and pre-trip inspections and reports problems immediately to driver.
• Assists driver in making a timely departure from facility.
• Packing household goods, padding furniture, safety and with care loading and unloading of household goods.
• Perform delivery/removals according to customer specifications, including de-servicing, disassemble/reassemble, installation, residence protection and customer reporting as required.
• Ensures all equipment returns to truck and/or facility upon completion of job.
• Cleans trucks upon return to facility and properly remove and store equipment.
• Abide by all published company work rules.
• Conducts other activities as directed and performs all duties and responsibilities in the best interest of the company.
• Conducts self in a professional manner at all times.
• Keeps supervisor informed of any problems.
$19.00-$23.00 per hour

Summary:
OSMP's Vegetation Stewardship team conducts long-term, watershed level invasive species management and restoration practices on natural lands in order to maintain and restore ecosystem function. This position requires hiking up to 10 hours a day, carrying equipment such as hand tools, power tools and herbicide, and working outside in inclement weather and mountainous terrain. The job demands sustained focus, attention to detail, and a team-oriented mindset. Crew Members will have the opportunity to gain technical certifications and learn new skills and best practices related to vegetation management and ecological restoration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement management prescriptions including weed whipping, hand-pulling/digging, herbicide treatments with hand-held and backpack sprayers, and tree and shrub cut-stump treatments to help protect and restore native ecosystems.
Assist in the coordination of volunteers and other work groups assigned to vegetation management projects.
Work collaboratively on projects with other agency staff and/or volunteers in forest, grassland, and riparian/aquatic ecosystems.
May conduct biocontrol insect releases and assist with seasonal livestock management prescriptions.
May perform native species seed collections and shrub planting.
Assist in maintaining detailed records of daily management prescriptions for database input.
Assist with surveys and data collection for assorted invasive and native species using GPS technology and aerial photography.
Cultivate a positive, collaborative team-orientated work environment.
Operates four-wheel drive vehicles as well as related hand tools like weed whips, chainsaws, and backpack sprayers on rough terrain.
Takes proper safety precautions, anticipates unsafe circumstances, and acts accordingly to prevent accidents. Uses all proper safety equipment. Reports all accidents and damage to city property.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to perform a wide range of physical and manual tasks in an outdoor environment under a variety of weather conditions. Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel and lift heavy objects on a regular basis.
Ability to learn invasive/native plant identification. Interest in plants, natural resources, or ecology.
Ability and willingness to work as part of a team.
