Founded by former NBA All Star Kevin Johnson and his wife, Michelle, Fixins' menu is rooted in the Southern recipes passed down through generations from Kevin's family and friends. Established in 2019 with the flagship store in the Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento, CA, Fixins is rapidly expanding. With additional current locations in Los Angeles (at the Staples Center), Tulsa (Black Wall Street), Detroit (Harmonie Park) and 6 new stores planned to open in the in next 2 years, we are seeking team members at all levels to join us in our goal of becoming the largest Black owned restaurant group in the nation. Fixins is looking for an enthusiastic and dependable Barback to support our bar team in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. As a Barback, you'll play an essential role in keeping the bar organized, well-stocked, and running smoothly, ensuring our bartenders can focus on delivering excellent service. Restock glassware, liquor, garnishes, and ice to ensure bartenders have what they need throughout service.
Prep and maintain bar production items including purees, juices and fruit garnishes.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including bar tops, equipment, and storage.
Assist bartenders with inventory management and restocking supplies.
Help deliver drinks and provide assistance to guests when needed.
Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
Clean and organize the bar at the beginning and end of each shift.
Qualifications
Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume bar environment.
Positive, team-oriented attitude with excellent communication skills.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Previous experience as a Barback is a plus, but not required.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Must have or be willing to obtain Food Handler's Card and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification if required by law (Certifications differ per state).
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
Exposure to hot surfaces, kitchen equipment, and potential allergens

The Role

RESPONSIBILITIES
Elevated Service & Execution
Deliver sharp, efficient guest service with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a positive, self-assured approach.
Demonstrate comprehensive, confident knowledge of all cocktail recipes, food menus, and the selection of spirits, wine, and beer.
Flow & Infrastructure
Maintain clean, organized, and stocked bar stations at all times.
Manage all transactions using the point of sale (POS) system efficiently and accurately.
Complete opening, closing, and side work duties and follow cash handling and reporting procedures accurately
Team & Compliance
Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and state/local alcohol service regulations, as well as Health & Safety.
Perform additional support tasks and duties to assist coworkers or as requested by leaders.
QUALIFICATIONS & PREREQUISITES
3+ years of experience in a high-volume, quality-focused restaurant or cocktail bar environment is strongly preferred.
Able to lift up to 40 pounds repeatedly and stand for extended periods throughout a shift.
