DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Reporting to the General Manager of Bon Appetit, this position performs the following essential duties and responsibilities:
Greet every customer with a smile and a warm welcome. Swipe student ID cards and take cash from paying guests, as well as answer questions about the daily menu.
Understand and follow proper cash procedures as trained. Count cash bank and verify opening balance on cash reconciliation work sheet, count out the cash sales from the meal and complete the cash reconciliation work sheet. Deposit all sales with the Dining Hall Manager and receive verifying signature.
Maintain a clean and organized environment at the cashier station, including cleaning doors before and after opening, wiping down tables and chairs as appropriate.
Ensure that all signage and menus are in their proper place and well presented prior to opening for the meal service. Ensure that the checker's desk is neat and well presented.
Ensure To Go items are stocked before service and removed after.
Wipe down tables and chairs before/after the meal service. Sweep, mop, and vacuum the dining area maintaining the cleanliness of the dining area.
Follow proper food preparation and sanitation directives as established by the Health Department. Comply with internal policies and procedures as they apply to food, sanitation, and safety within the Dining Hall department. This includes, but is not limited to, keeping work area clean, properly/safely using equipment and keeping floor free of food/liquid that may be a potential safety hazard, and adhering to assigned work schedule.
Other duties may be assigned as appropriate. This includes daily, weekly, monthly cleaning, and cross training as time permits.
Regular attendance is considered an essential job function; the inability to meet attendance requirements may preclude the employee from retaining employment.

Job Overview
The Food Preparation Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all foodservices, including breakfast and lunch preparations, home meals, center snacks, and special events. The Food Preparation Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily duties of kitchen staff to jointly ensure that food is received, stored, prepared, served, and disposed of per applicable standards and regulations. The Food Preparation Coordinator is responsible for maintaining records for compliance with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), internal policy requirements, and guidance or instructions received from regulatory agencies.
Minimum Requirements
A Food Protection Manager certificate from an ANSI-accredited training provider meeting ASTM International E2659-09 Standard Practice for Certificate Programs is required. Or required within 90 days of hire.
Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese, depending on the demographics of the PACE site, is preferred.
A minimum of 2 years' foodservice experience working in food preparation is preferred.
Foodservice experience with the elderly in community or healthcare settings is preferred.
A minimum of 1 year of experience in leading or managing foodservice operations in any capacity is preferred.
A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.
Compensation
$25.00 - $29.32 hourly
