POSITION GOAL: To prepare and serve a nutritious meal, that is tasty and appealing. To create a pleasant atmosphere in the cafateria and educate students about nutrition. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assist in preparing and serving daily breakfast and lunch meals. 2. Operate all kitchen equipment such as dishwasher, slicers, mixers, ovens and other kitchen equipment as needed. 3. Must follow safety and sanitation procedures including wearing heairnet and disposable gloves. 4. Assist in cleaning and storing utensils, dishes, trays, pans and other kitchen equipment. 5. Operate a cash register, enter transactions and make change if necessary. 6. Be very safety conscious and practice safety precautions at all times. 7. Know the basics of USDA Food Service Requirements. 8. Assist with unloading of food trucks and store food properly. 9. Have a good working relationship with all other persons. 10. Stock and restock quick serve food items. 11. Move and arrange cafaterria tables as needed. 12. Dispose of trash daily. 13. May wash laundry. 14. Work with teachers in education of students about nutrition. 15. Work with Head Cook and Food Service Director as needed. 16. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 17. Responsible for cleaning/wiping down lunch tables after each line. 18. Assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Head Cook/Food Service Director. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work year established by the Board of Education. Pay rate and other benefits as per the negotiated contract. EVALUATION: An annual evaluation will be conducted by the Food Service Director. Evaluation procedure shall follow the Clarke Community School District board policy 411.7.
