Assists cook in the preparation of meals and general kitchen and dining sanitation.
Responsibilities
Ensures food preparation is in accordance with planned menus and in sufficient quantities
Ensures food is properly stored and the proper temperature is maintained in hot and cold food items
Inspects work areas daily to ensure they are kept well organized and clean including store room, refrigerators, freezers, service areas and dining rooms
Ensures food is handled in a sanitary manner, including receipt, preparation, and storage, including checking food temperature log daily to ensure appropriate temperature is maintained and logged in accordance with health regulations
Check equipment daily to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation techniques are followed
Notify the Food Service Supervisor and issue work orders for repairs or replacement when necessary
Assist Supervisor with ordering, stocking, and inventory as needed
As needed, wash dishes, sweep and mop floors, remove trash, clean and sanitize tables and service areas
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Three to six months related experience and/or training; must be able to make quantitative calculations using both fractional and decimal measure units. Supervisory experience preferred
High School Diploma required
One year in Culinary Arts or related field from a college or technical school and/or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
Valid State Driver's License; County Sanitation Certification

As the Food Service Worker you will be responsible for assisting catering services personnel in the preparing, serving, and distributing of food to customers or clients in a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.
What does a typical day look like for the Food Service
Worker?
You will:
Assist in transporting prepared food into dining facilities from delivery vehicles.
Conduct light food preparation (slicing of fresh fruits and vegetables, etc.).
Serve food to customers in a cafeteria-type setting.
Assist in the transportation of trays and service equipment from dining facilities to delivery vehicles.
Conduct general clean-up and sanitation of food service areas.
Assist in the removal of refuse from dining facilities and transportation to approved receptacles.

Job Overview
The Food Preparation Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all food services, including breakfast and lunch preparations, home meals, center snacks, and special events. The Food Preparation Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily duties of kitchen staff to jointly ensure that food is received, stored, prepared, served, and disposed of per applicable standards and regulations. The Food Preparation Coordinator is responsible for maintaining records for compliance with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), internal policy requirements, and guidance or instructions received from regulatory agencies.
Minimum Requirements
* A Food Protection Manager certificate from an ANSI-accredited training provider meeting ASTM International E2659-09 Standard Practice for Certificate Programs is required. Or required within 90 days of hire.
* Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese, depending on the demographics of the PACE site, is preferred.
* A minimum of 2 years' foodservice experience working in food preparation is preferred.
* Foodservice experience with the elderly in community or healthcare settings is preferred.
* A minimum of 1 year of experience in leading or managing foodservice operations in any capacity is preferred.
* A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.
Compensation
