Department Responsibilities:
Accurately portion, serve, set up, and deliver all resident meal trays quickly with minimum waste and in accordance with departmental procedures.
Clean and operate equipment per departmental procedures
Accurately portion food items such as desserts, nourishments, hot food, cold food, bread, milk, etc.
Assist with special events and catering as assigned.
Safely transport food trucks and equipment to resident units, ensuring timely and proper delivery.
Wrap silverware
Scrape used resident trays of all refuse in the dish machine area and properly run dish machines.
Mop all floor surfaces.
Clean and wipe food trucks, tables, and stations
Assist with Garden Grill Café service as assigned, serving residents and visitors
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the café area
Catering and vending duties as assigned.
Adhere to organization and department dress codes and time/attendance policy.
Provide exceptional service to veterans and staff members.
All other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Duties:
Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine.
Sort and stack clean dishes. Carry clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areas. Rewash soiled dishes before delivering.
Wash pots, pans and trays by hand.
Prepares trays for incoming order tickets with silverware, napkins, etc that are appropriate for each order. Ladles out soup/popcorn for orders as appropriate for each tray that requires it.
Ensures communication in the kitchen by calling out orders, getting the status on dishes and calling out names/number of completed dishes to visitors when there is a back-up of outgoing orders.
Informs the Front of House Associates when certain dishes or ingredients have run out and passing food requests from the Café Associate to the kitchen.
Performing the finishing touches to completed dishes, such as adding garnishes and removing smudges.
Promotes a safe and clean service environment by supporting Grace Farms sanitation and cleanliness standards.
Remove trash and garbage to dumpster.
Sweep up trash around exterior of restaurant and garbage dumpster daily.
Communicates on a high level with the kitchen team to expedite customer orders.
Conduct general restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed.
Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
Assisting the front of the house and back of the house staff as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrate ability to prepare foods with efficiency and technique to ensure a quality product for our guests.
Set up the kitchen with proper equipment for hands-on cooking classes and events and ensure that all equipment is clean and functional.
Prepare mise en place for the workstations, which includes measuring, washing, and preparing ingredients and equipment.
Review recipes, lesson plans, and pull sheets to ensure all the ingredients and equipment are in place and staff is prepared to greet customers.
During class, assist the Chef Instructor and guests with the food items and equipment.
Answering questions raised by students on equipment, processes, recipes, etc. and deferring to the chef instructor where needed.
Make sure the kitchen and prep areas remain clean: remove dirty dishes and used equipment as the class or event progresses and any spills or messes are quickly cleared. Make sure that used equipment is brought to the dishwasher.
Return clean dishes, tools and equipment to the designated storage areas in the classroom / kitchen.
Breakdown and clean kitchen areas ensuring all equipment (pots, pans, dishes, silverware and glasses) are properly cleaned and stored.
Review ending inventory with beginning inventory to ensure all products and equipment are accounted for.
Assist with preparation of a multi-course catered event or public dinner.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef Instructors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED required.
Culinary degree from an accredited program (desired)
Minimum 1 2 years of experience in the food industry
Must be familiar with and can identify food ingredients
Must have an understanding of food and kitchen safety
