Position Objective:
To travel on TeachKind and peta2's tours. You may be considered for the following tours: Carly the Cow and Ellie the Elephant tours, Abduction virtual-reality campus tour, or peta2's concert tours.
What to Expect:
This is a full-time, traveling position and you are expected to travel extensively (driving a box truck or other large vehicles from city to city) on tours starting immediately after being hired. You'll live on the road throughout tour seasons each year: winter/spring, summer, and fall. Altogether, this equates to 7 - 9 months on the road each year, give or take, with breaks in between tour seasons. Looking for something shorter? We also have temporary positions that last 1-2 months.
While on the road, in addition to hourly pay, a daily food stipend is provided and hotel and travel costs are paid. You will represent PETA, handle administrative tasks for the tour, and deliver a compelling message against cruelty to animals to young people.
Between tours, you may assist other departments at PETA with tasks that reflect your strengths. This could include helping the Campaign's team with demos, outreach at festivals, or working remotely to help the TeachKind team with projects.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Ability to travel full-time starting immediately and until the completion of each tour
• Confidence in and ability to drive a large box truck safely from stop to stop on tour
• Carefully load and unload tour materials at each tour stop
• Give educational presentations about empathy and kindness to animals to large groups of students
• You may handle administrative tasks (such as expense reports, thorough nightly reports, inventory reports) and more
• Help with PETA expenses for the tour team
• Liaise with PETA office staffers about daily event reports and weekly highlight reports
• Help coordinate the travel logistics for assigned tours and events
• Knowledgeably perform animal rights outreach for several hours each day
• Perform maintenance addressing any technical issues right away with the team
• Build connections to promote objectives
• Report on and fulfill campaign objectives such as advocacy material distribution and more
• You may act as a spokesperson for pitches to the media
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards, ensuring consistency and adherence to food safety guidelines.
Follow proper cooking techniques and methods, including grilling, frying, roasting, baking, and sautéing, to achieve desired flavors, textures, and appearances.
Monitor food temperatures, cooking times, and ingredient quantities to prevent waste and ensure that food is cooked and served at optimal quality.
Collaborate with the culinary team and management to develop and refine menu items, specials, and promotions that appeal to guests' preferences and dietary needs.
Experiment with new ingredients, flavors, and cooking techniques to create innovative and unique dishes that showcase the restaurant's culinary expertise and creativity.
Stay informed about culinary trends, industry developments, and seasonal ingredients, and incorporate these insights into menu planning and execution.
Maintain a clean, sanitized, and orderly kitchen environment at all times, including workstations, equipment, utensils, and storage areas, in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Assist with inventory management, including receiving, storing, and rotating ingredients and supplies, and conducting regular stock checks to ensure adequate levels for production.

To prepare snacks, nourishments, and other food items for resident service and the trayline. Helps to maintain sanitation. Cleans trays, carts, and other equipment. Helps on the trayline when needed. Deliver food in the form of patient meals, nourishments, snacks, bag lunches and special functions to various locations in an accurate and timely manner. Pickup soiled trays and equipment and convey these items back to Food Services for cleaning and storage in a timely manner. Drive a Food Service box truck or other hospital vehicle in a safe manner and maintain the maintenance and sanitary condition of the vehicle used. When delivering patient trays, the driver must accurately load the trays into the retherm unit for each building, ensuring that hot and cold food is correctly placed on the retherm carts to prevent loss of food and delays in patient dining. Assist with preparation of snacks, nourishments, and other food items for patient service. Clean trays, carts, and other equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record from the last three years.
Experience driving delivery trucks up to 13 tons GVWR.

Food Service training with basic knowledge of food service sanitation, safety and service requirements.
