Food Service Aide provides customer service, in the service of food to the student clientele and guests. This may be a food production position as well as customer service. The primary responsibility is to provide quality food service to our customers. This position is responsible for procuring sales in cash operations (with understanding of Micros). Practice good sanitation skills in food handling and work area maintenance and good personal hygiene. Work in other areas as necessary for completion of service based on unit goals and priorities. All other duties as assigned. This is a full-time position that may not have scheduled hours during the month of mid-May to mid-August, unless work is available. This position will require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Grill and deep fry food items. Perform simple cooking of products such as eggs, pancakes, sandwiches, and pizza.
Clean and sanitize the work area.
Work with the chef to maintain HACCP logs.
Use the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as cutting gloves, to clean all knives and equipment blades in the area.
Follows proper food preparation and sanitation directives as established by the Health Department. Comply with internal policies and procedures as they apply to food, sanitation, and safety within the Dining Services department. This includes, but is not limited to, keeping work area clean, properly/safely using equipment and keeping floor free of food/liquid that may be a potential safety hazard, adhering to agreed work schedule.
