Maintain a comfortable environment for guests by monitoring and addressing issues with respect to air temperature, music volume, music selection, intoxicated individuals, unauthorized solicitations, etc. Limit restroom access to authorized patrons of the establishment. Prevent the introduction of outside food & beverage, including alcoholic beverages, from being brought into the venue by informing patrons these items are prohibited and refer to the posted signage if necessary. At no time will the Kitchen Worker attempt to either physically take an item in the possession of a patron or to make physical contact with him/her. Continually monitor the “front of the house” areas for cleanliness and bring any issues requiring attention to the MOD. Use only verbal communication to deescalate potentially dangerous and/or volatile situations and contact the appropriate law enforcement authorities should a situation be deemed necessary. Job Description Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen outlets by bending, reaching, lifting, sweeping and mopping of floors and other duties that are assigned by the Assistant Executive Steward or the Executive Steward. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING) * Wash all types of dishes and glasses; lift racks, plate stacks, bus pans and silverware weighing a maximum of 40 pounds to shoulder height. * Clean floors, mats and drains for sanitary reasons using mops, brooms, scrapers, scrubbers and chemicals. * Clean stainless steel or wipe down with soap and water. * Remove dirty dishes from the cook's line and take to dish room for cleaning and restock cook's line with clean dishes. * Maintain the cleanliness of employee's bathrooms by sweeping, mopping, scouring, and (overall cleaning), by bending, kneeling and crouching. * Clean and polish the silverware and hollowware on a daily basis or as needed for functions by lifting silverware, hollowware and bus pans weighing a maximum of 40 pounds above the waist. Qualifications PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, skills and abilities) * Ability to operate dish machines, glass machines, floor scrubbers, and burnishing machine. * Ability to understand verbal English to comprehend basic guest requests. Ability to understand written English to read any caution, safety notices and supervisor's verbal/written instructions. Ability to understand verbal English in case of emergency situations. * Ability to read, writes, speaks and understands the English language to comprehend product labeling instruction to enable the safe application of products and processes with the Hotel. * Ability to read, writes, speak and understand the English language to communicate with management and other employees. * Ability read, write, speak and understand the English language to complete production and job requirements. * Ability to perform duties within cold/normal/hot temperatures. * Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use mops, brooms, scrapers and sort silverware.
